Hi all, I scratched my new single lock love bracelet after having just bought it 3 weeks ago. I feel like an idiot cause I did it trying to fix my kitchen sink and I should have removed it.

Is this horrible? Should I try to get it polished/buffed or just leave it?

I know I'm in the minority but I like to buff out those scratches with a Sunshine cloth or Cape Cod cloth, they come out quite nicely. Just try to stay away from the edges so as not to round off the crisp corners. And buy some wrist sweatbands to wear for in the kitchen!

What is sunshine or cape cod cloth? Wouldnt it remove some of the gold?
Anything that removes the scratches is going to remove a very small amount of gold. Having said that I have used a cape cod on mine in the past (but it's very old with rounded edges anyway so doesn't worry me).
At this stage if I were you, I'd turn it round so the scratches are at the bottom and then forget about them! You will get more, they won't hurt as much.. eventually they all sort of blend and you don't really notice them.

So if you were me you would NOT use the cape cod cloth? Just keep as is?

Thanks, so its bound to happen, right? Don't worry about it, and more will continue to pop up.?
My first scratch was painful. Subsequently there was once I knocked it against kitchen top (dang kitchen too!). I bought the Connoisseur polishing cloth. It does help to soften the scratches but I no longer do it (don’t wanna rub off too much gold). However if you prefer to do something about it, this is something you can explore. Just buffing once in a long while wouldn’t be too much.

I’d add that over time the fresh scratches (not too deep, of course) naturally get buffed out a bit because of contact with clothing, sheets, sweaters, etc. during wear.
I inflicted some scratches on the bottom of my 2 loves while carrying heavy rocks while gardening. (I thought my glove was covering them.) That was 3 weeks ago and the scratches are barely noticeable.
I’ve had mine 6 and 2 years and I don’t polish them. I always keep the same sides on bottom and top, and the top still looks shiny.
