That's what I thought too. I didn't care for the feel of it.

I have it in the dark blue and I really like it. I've only carried it once for a few days (as I now try to switch bags so that they see the light of day more often), but I have no complaints as it held everything I need and I love the two outside zip pockets. Now I'm thinking it may need come out of the closet again.

Yes, i felt it was a bit on the stiffer side but wonder whether it would soften over time?

I have this in Navy, and I absolutely love it. For me it is super soft and smooshy. I don't know if I got lucky, or they have changed. I ordered it online, so I didn't see or feel them before I bought one.
