SCORE! Outrageous Lederer Alligator bag

I haven't done a show & tell in ages, but Happy Birthday to me! My prezzie to myself. . .

The kind of piece I never I never thought I'd own. . . massive (16" x 12" and locks open to 9"), A+++ condition, and gorgeous It's actually a travel bag, with a purse-like design. Structured and heavy, it weighs more than 4 lbs with nothing in it. Fabulous 24K gold plated hardware (if Victoria Stowe site is correct).

I keep an easy on/off alligator strap tucked inside for times when hands-free is needed. Would love to find a replacement key for the lock, but alas, Lederer is no more.

Modest size purse (9" x7" Kahn of Switzerland) and wine bottle (probably crappy - I don't drink) included for scale.

Sexy to me, for sure! A male friend saw the photos and said it wasn't "romantic". . . I thought "Of course it's not - it's a social suit of armor".

There's such a psychology to bags an how they represent their owners. I think the signals sent are primarily intended for other women, so it's interesting when a (straight) man weighs in. These are the bags he thought would suit me. . . Bottega Veneta clutches. I wouldn't choose them for myself, but I wouldn't throw them out of bed for eating crackers, either!
