This is interesting. My husband and all 3 of our kids have grey eyes. I have a yellow ring around my pupil, then light blue in the middle, and a dark blue outer ring.

I have hazel eyes like my mum (unlike my 3 siblings who all inherited by father's dark brown eyes - which I personally think are lovely). I always thought blue eyes were rarer, maybe I was just noticing the grey eyes!

Interesting, I have green eyes and didn't realize they were so rare.
I have green eyes too, so did my parents, I never thought they were rare! I just read the article and my eyes are similar to the green ones in the pic but without the yellow, I also have a dark rim all the way round.

I used to have blue eyes, but now they are green.
It happened also to my dad, but it was his medical treatment for cataract.
Which causes a change in eye color in some cases, but most ever longer lashes as a side effect and therefor it is also in the lash serum I used for longer time.

We both thought there is something wrong with our family :D

I miss my clear blue eyes from time to time but also like the green now.

Mine tend to change based on what color I'm wearing.... green, blue, grey seem to all impact the appearance. My oldest daughter has the exact same eyes as me but her dad also has green. My younger daughter has brown eyes but got my thick brown hair. Older blonde but recently decided to color her hair dark so now we potbelly look more alike.

ETA: One time, just for fun, I cropped 2 pictures and melded them together - one of my eyes & one of older daughter's and it literally looked like one person, you could not tell the difference. The only person who could tell whose eye was who's was my youngest daughter (bc she sees us every day)!

Happened to me too- had blue eyes & in my late teens/early 20s they turned green.
My dad has blue eyes, my mom greenish hazel, but mine are decidedly medium green with yellow in the center.
One of those instances where you wonder where that genetic trait came from!

Honestly I'm surprised it's considered "new", I've always known people with grey eyes. I just assumed it was a shade of blue, much like my green hazel eyes can be green, army green or green/brown.

Just looked at the poll, grey isn't so rare here lol, it's 2nd most voted!

Miss Swanky is Tom Ford your fav men's brand?

What about people with multiple colours? My eyes are blue, green, grey and brown. 🤔 They kinda look like a weird kaleidoscope and no clue what the scientific reason is behind this. My hair is equally strange as it is brown with patches of red. 🤣
