I can't bring myself to click "like" on a post about a scarf disaster! Yes, foundation is a silk killer. I have a few smudges on a couple so now try to wear my light ones around a polo neck. The lengths we go to!I was distraught, Pautinka! It almost ruined my dinner (almost!)... I’m drying to get it back from the dry cleaners! I still wear the bright lipsticks as well, though! Although I’m still terrified of base makeup near my neck!
Yes... and after all of the heavy wearing of my Faune et Flore during this season, I just saw a smudge near the hem so off to the dry cleaners it goes on Monday!I can't bring myself to click "like" on a post about a scarf disaster! Thank you!Thank you kindly!!!
That red CW is so beautiful!
Oh Cookie- it's gorgeous! (I've got scarf mail coming too...Granted- last time I found anything I felt the "urge to splurge on" was summer time so I'm kind of excited...
)
Just a cheap thrill. I have no idea how I became suddenly obsessed when I never felt an interest in this one before....I think it is the irony of the name combined with the imagery on it and the colorway name....more later....Thank you!
We'll all be waiting to see what you've splurged on!![]()
These colors look so lovely on you!

One more feather scarf. It wouldn't be a feather week without joining in the MP and FP Festival! I managed to get that feathered little Phoenix head on the side of the scarf...

Gorgeous! And IMO we don't see pictures of that one often enough!
Great question! I've never considered this before as I never connected the two. I use ick as an expression equivalent to yucks, like when I see the slimey mess in the sink after DS1 has cooked a delicious meal. Squick was used for a subject or image that made me uncomfortable, so yeah, "sleeping" pheasants squick me and I have no doubt that I'd find dressing them IRL icky, but I don't use the two terms interchangeably.Is squick the same meaning as "ick"?
Thank you Moiai!Always fabulous!
View attachment 3889082 View attachment 3889078 Pardon me if I post twice but I don’t think my previous post registered, so here it goes again! Just got back from luncheon with friends and this is what I wore: India and its peacocks!

If you do a seach, there are some sites that say squick was born from marrying squirm to ick. Maybe. Who knows? I like the explanation on fanlore.org which gives a possible etymological root and history for the word, and juxtaposes squick against trigger. I read tonnes of fanfic, so this was of especial interest to me.
Sorry for going OT. A few feathers to bring us back:

MP has been quite an education for me. These two cw are currently my fave. When I started collecting this design, I didn't even like the one with the yellow background. I wanted the neutral cw that everyone was raving about. Ms B/W Phoenix is a travel staple because it can go everywhere and matches with everything, but now I'm more fascinated by her rainbow sisters. Maybe it's the Chinese culture - our phoenixes are always a riot of colours. I'm waiting for H to create an MP in fiery red & gold a la Fonteyn in The Firebird.Ahhh- the the best kind of feathers. The ones on a fantastic creatures! The pink and purple CW is awesome!
The MT have been shortened. They are much simpler to wear now.Pics aren't showing up for me either. Last one I was able to see was Cookie's Bolduc...no one since then! Crazy!
You can see people's pics??? I can't see your KO still....dang! May reboot my iPad and see if I have better luck on that instead of my computer.
Mostly the MT's aren't for summer for me. because of their length. There's some limitations with that here in summer unless you want looonngg tails hanging down in front of you. So that sends heavy silk like this that has to be wrapped around the neck firmly in to the fall/winter only category, but the Menthe CW is definitely year round and it goes great with my Malachite Hapi 3....Kind of wish I had a purse to match.....![]()
