Well spotted, I never paid attention to the boats on mine!

Thanks, I guess that means I really don’t wear it that much even though I love the colors.

Thank you. I am learning from the best here

I LOVE that pattern mixing. Fabulous.

I didn’t realize it came in a wash. Are you sure it is not surteint? I may be completely wrong though.
I did a little look-see online but need to do some more looking!

Another day, another marinière. And a spaceship is a kind of ship, right?
Introducing a new-in, an anniversary gift from the ever-lovely Mr.Belle, who knows how much I love this design! He’s declared it a favourite too 💛. Twinning with dear @Redbirdhermes for the second time this week

As it was much too hot to wear this precious today, actual SOTD was a little cutie that’s also new, and was too fun not to snap up in a couple of CWs. Not H, so I hope you’ll forgive me sharing here:

How could I resist a cocktail scarf?! :panic:

That yellow Space Derby is just the best. Glad to hear that it’s a favorite with both of you.

So so fun to catch up on a couple of pages of sotd. What a fun theme. I actually had a bit of a dress up day today ( highly unusual in summer), so made a point to wear a scarf. It is a cotton charm of Rialto. Boats! I could only just barely handle the cotton today in the oppressive heat.
@paula24jen Happy Birthday! Love seeing all of you and love your silk while celebrating. That hem color is tdf. And @HermesHope i am sorry to hear of how tough it is to come downstairs :hugs: . I do think this orange tulipomanie will cheer things up. It’s so cheerful! @LKBNOLA how amazing a theme for hosting when every day you get to see that beautiful blue bliss  to inspire your day for theme.

Excuse the cold sore. Got a bad sunburn

Natty Nauticals: Oh, the Places We'll Go... ⛵ 🚤 🛳️

"There is no frigate like a book / To Sail us Lands away..." wrote the poet Emily Dickinson. Here in Scarflandia, we might paraphrase her poem to say, "There is no frigate like a scarf..." Today I'm sharing some scarves that feature a boat and a connection to a place I have lived or visited. I wish I had scarves for each of the wonderful places I have had a chance to explore; both in real life and aboard the frigate of a beloved book!!! 📚

Varangues, by Dmitri Rybalchenko
Growing up I lived on a few islands and this scarf, although it features coastal Mauritius, reminds me so much of a scene I might see looking out from the verandas of my childhood. Plus, at its center is a red Hibiscus, which was a feature of every garden in every home we lived in...

The Battery New York, by Ugo Gattoni
From the year I graduated college until just before the pandemic, New York City was my home. I worked, studied, raised my family there and spent many hours in, around and on the Hudson River and the harbor featured on Gattoni's wonderful scarf.
The Battery copy.jpg The Battery New York SE.jpeg

New Orleans Creole Jazz, by Loïc Dubigeon
The paddlewheelers of the Mississippi River remain a distinctive feature of the New Orleans riverfront, in my other hometown. This scarf shows the famous Creole Queen.
New Orleans Creole Jazz (1996) 2 .jpg New Orleans Creole Jazz 1996.jpeg

Rialto, by Pierre Peron
My first trip to Venice took place via Henry James' The Wings of the Dove, but over the years I have made a few trips to La Serenissima, a city completely identified with water transport and the famous gondola, the curve of which one can see on the scarf.
Rialto .jpg Rialto.jpeg
My DH, an avid history buff, associates the Normandy beaches exclusively with the battleships of WWII, but the beautiful beaches of of the region, like Deauville and Trouville are also places of recreation, relaxation, water sports, fishing, yachting-- not unlike coastal Cape Cod where we spend the other six months of the year!
Charmes de Plages Normandes.jpg Hermès Charmes des Plages Normandes Silk Scarf - Neutrals Scarves and Shawls, Accessories - ...jpeg
Marché Flottant du Lac Inle, by Dmitri Rybalchenko
Not only does this design feature boats from a unique diagonal perspective, but it also has a sentimental connection for me. The scene is so evocative of a fabulous trip-- a journey, really-- that DH and I took to Southeast Asia. We saw beautiful floating markets in several locations along the Mekong River and in Cambodia.

I hope you enjoy floating along these silky waterways and I hope you will share your own associations of boats and places (if you like) or your SOTD or your attempt to win the
Hermes Cup... Any and all options are welcome

It is gorgeous @Lellabelle! How great that DH is so attuned to your scarf passion. The yellow Space Derby is stunning and I love it paired with that marinière-- the dark background really enhances the luminosity. Plus, I think it has earned you at least a ribbon-- and the rank of First Mate 👩‍✈️ (on account of it being a space ship). DH however, gets a :ps: for Scraf Gifting!!!

@Nomad! So delighted to see you back and wearing the wonderful cotton charm Rialto! Great minds think alike, as I posted it today too (the 90 on which we are twins, if memory serves).
Stripes + red + blue + boats means....
🏆🏆🏆

Congratulations @Coco2606!!! A beutiful Thalassa! You have indeed won the Hermes Cup for your outfit today!!!!

Boats need somewhere to sail, right?

Also: Stripes.

Not actually blue and white, though my brain insists that is so - it’s blue-ey purple-y and the palest blue.

Another NdO to tantalize! Love it, and love the intertwined moussies - they go so well together I didn't realize it was two

Thank you, @Snausages ! I’ve seen two other colorways of NdO go by - a darker blue mix and a burgundy/grey mix. I missed out on both of them, but they’re out there somewhere!

@FizzyWater you look beautiful in your Nombre d'Or and your two moussie gavs together are so fetching...

Thank you, @LKBNOLA ! I’ll try to take a picture later today!

The colors are beautiful

Thanks, @Coco2606 ! Just to confuse the issue, on my video meeting this morning, it appeared bright purple, then outside in sunlight it became a true French blue and pure white. I like all of these colors, but…
