A l’Ombre des Pivoines. yes! such a confusing experience for me as y’all would share different portions over the past year—and then “the buildings” on it were brought up when comparing to La Cite Cavaliere CWs.03 November, 2019... MAGIC SCARVES:
Same knot on different scarves, or same scarf with different knots
Happy Sunday, dear Scarfies!
Magic Scarves... and the Magic of our Scarves...
Well, we all know that each of our scarves is magical because of their beauty and allure. But, most of all, because of how special they make us feel. And, they always surprise us with their chameleonic properties and fascinating versatility. Very often with just a different drape or knot a treasured silk can look completely different.
This week we will explore how different knots can transform a particular scarf completely by revealing different facets of it. Sometimes when I tie a scarf in a variety of ways, I feel as if pulling a different silk from a magician’s hat. Of course, there are those designs that are intrinsically more versatile because of their graphics and it’s fascinating and fun to reveal those various facets with each knot.
One such magic scarf is A l’Ombre des Pivoines. It almost looks like it’s a different silk depending on the knot.

It will also be fun to show the same knot on different scarves. We all have those standard go-to knots or preferred ways to tie a scarf. I am always delighted to discover how a new silk will look with one of my tired-and-true knots. The following pics show the same knot on different scarves...

I also thought it might be fun to add the magic of color to this theme, by showing how a different colorway may persuade us to get several versions of the same design.. A fascinating and addictive pursuit that is proof of the magic of Hermès. Here is Brides Fleuries worn with the same jacket on different occasions. Oh, what a difference does colorway make!

I am looking forward to seeing the great variety of Hermès magic that we will all share this week!
I’m fine with snakes - outside - this one did give me scare!Oh my!! And in your basement! Now that is hair-raising!
I cycle miles and miles of greenways each week and snakes crossing the trail are a common sight. Recently one actually tried to strike my bike tire as I rolled by........I lifted my leg and kept on pedaling. Just last week I ran over a large copperhead before I realized it was on the trail. Surprisingly it felt like a hard brick under my bike tire as I hit it. I was expecting it to feel squishy....ish. Snakes are so scary!! Hope you threw him out!
Ha! Yes, I’m sure he was frightened! You have such a knack for picking perfect colors. Those are gorgeous.
Beautiful scarf. Poor guy, he was probably as terrified as you! Harmless, but not what one expects to find turning on the lights!
Thank you! Thanks so much! And, many of us relate to my crowds phobia, I see!
Yes... I would suffocate in that scenario
My math proficiency level is about 5th grade... Numbers make me queasy
Twins on the MdZ... I adore this Cw... Congrats!
Snakes terrify me! But your Della Cavalleria is delightful! What a wonder in every way!
Thanks so much! Yes, crowds and math are no bueno
Aladin is fabulous! Just added it to my wishlist, although I suspect it will be hard to find... And, thank you so much!
OMG, so scary! This CW of CR is amazing!
Sharing my new addition and it’s right on theme this week.
Scary teeth on my new “Marche du Zambeze.”
I adore this colorway!!
Also adding my SOTD!

Rattle snakes are a harsh reality of growing up in the oil fields of West Texas. One day I closed the tailgate on my dad’s truck to find a rattler previously out of view. A soft “Dad-deeeeee“ and my hero appeared with a hoe to chop off the head of offending hissing snake.
It’s a wonder I relate so well
to the undulating mass atop Caducee Rock in prune/prusse/gris.

Ndop is a scarf that (to me) doesn't look like much but it SO much more when folded!
DS1 is an Anglophile when it comes to TV shows. He quotes Monty Python at me. He does kindly share TV time whenever I want to slake my thirst for blood and gore (CSI: Las Vegas and all Resident Evil movies).
My kinds of plants
We were on a nature walk once and the guide said something about a plant on the hillside. DH asked me, "Did he say it's edible?" I replied, "Not exactly. That's foxglove."
Hi, twin! The "good garden" is Aladin, a design from the 70s.
And when I wanted to refresh my memory about the tale, I was horrified to discover that all the top search hits were Disney-relatedI had to filter to find the source material
Your changeants just slay me!
Good finds!
The Curse of Tutakhamen even spawned a movie, I believe!
I popped a pearl bracelet in a fast food restaurant once. DS found every pearl for me.That was heart-stopping.
Great with your earrings!!!And it wouldn’t be Halloween without Cest la fete!
