So…..the truth is when my mom bought this for me, I thought it was ugly. I loved Gucci, but thought LV was boring and ’old’. My mom felt I was traveling a lot on various school sponsored trips and a duffle would be perfect. She insisted, correctly, it would be a life long bag.

Your Mom was wise. In the mid-80s my boss used one like that as his gym bag. I didn't even know what it was at the time. I hope you enjoy yours for another 40 years!

Oh, forgot to mention….cost of the bag in 1982 was $ 295, by an inflation calculator that would be $867 now, but the going rate is $ 2170.

It was and is. I can remember being in Malm’s Luggage with my mom. It reminds me to be patient with my daughter….here my mom was buying it for me and I was moping because I thought it was ‘ugly’.
