Does anyone have any experience with this Savette Tondo bag? Is the quality good? Is it functional, durable, easily damaged? I saw it in the green suede a long while ago and didn’t buy it. Then it sold out. Now they have the same bag in a brown suede which is lovely as well. I am just not familiar with the brand though. If anyone has any experience they can share with the Savette brand and/or this bag in particular, I’d appreciate it!

I have the Symmetry pochette and have worn it a few times. I think it’s fantastic, especially for the price point. It seems very well made, my leather version is buttery soft, and it is rather under-the-radar. I wouldn’t hesitate to buy another Savette bag if one suited my purposes - the pochette fit a (limited) need for me; I’m not generally a mini bag fan but there are times when you do need something small. HTH :flowers:

ETA: I like that hobo very much.

Thanks! I like how the styles from the brand are rather understated - nothing flashy. Not surprising with the founder having a background with The Row and Khaite, but it does make quality extremely important. From your experience, it sounds like the quality is quite high! I’ve been on a bit of a bag spree lately, but I might just revisit this one. It looks like a great fall bag. Thanks for your feedback!

I’m itching to buy the larger size one in the dark brown for every day wear. It looks like a gorgeous every day bag with suede lining. I just want to be sure whether I should buy it in the black or brown.

Please let us know if you get one and what you think about the quality
It’s on luisviaroma and it’s in my cart. I’ve never bought from them and I’m hesitating because in their description of the bag they write micro suede lining. I am guessing this is incorrect because on Savette it says genuine suede lining. Full price is a huge purchase to make sight unseen

It's also really hard when not many people seem to post their experiences so you're going in blind

I have the Savette Symmetry Pouch in a chocolate brown color. I have a large collection of designer bags and I would say the quality of this bag is very good. I have the grained version and the leather has the same hand feel to Hermes Togo leather. I have not felt the smooth leather... it's hard to find them in store to look at and feel so I ordered from a place I knew I could return. I am really happy to have her and am glad that I am not seeing everywhere when I go out like with many other luxury bags.

That's a gorgeous bag! I've wanted the Symmetry Pouch for some time but I wonder whether the top-handle only carry style is practical. Does it get annoying after a while for a day bag? Or do you mainly take it out for evenings? I have looked at some of their versions with a shoulder strap but I don't like it as much because it doesn't look as sleek as the pouch.

I agree that the versions with the strap are not as visually appealing to me. There’s just something about the pouch style. I have worn it out during the day to meat up with friends for a meal or to go shopping. I suppose it can get annoying but it hasn’t deterred me from using it. I will say I have a very large bag collection so I do feel free to add novelty items that don’t get as much wear.

One last thing, I bet you could fashion a conversion situation with a felt insert and D rings to allow you to attach a strap and to convert crossbody.

I have a Tondo 22 in Navy. It's a sleek bag and it looks great when I'm wearing it, but I'm not sure I'd get another Savette after my experience with this one. The strap is too short for me to wear crossbody (I'm 5'6" and normal body weight). The leather seems to scratch easily. It's decent quality, but the smooth finish needs a little babying to keep it looking nice. There are little openings on the sides of the bag where the top flap closes over the main body of the bag, and if you bend over to pick something up when wearing the bag on your shoulder, things fall out of the bag through those holes - I've had a car key and lip balm fall out. Finally, the clasp is awkward... it usually takes both hands to get it to open up.

Yeah I agree with you; I have my everyday workhorse bags and am now just collecting for the sake of joy, and actually the bags I reach for most outside of work are top handle or shoulder bags, so it probably wouldn’t be too much of a problem. Maybe I’ll wait for a dark brown version with silver hardware to come back in stock before I purchase!
