Satchels with crossbody straps

I recently got a satchel, which I had been wanting for sometime, and it comes with a crossbody strap attached by rings at the side. Not sure how to handle the strap hanging under the bag when I'm carrying it as a satchel but still glad the option exists. Does anyone have any input on how they deal with this?

I just put the crossbody strap over the bag so it falls between the shorter handles when I carry the bag in my hand. Or I remove the long strap altogether.

I was concerned at first but I have never had a problem with the cross body strap dangling. I do sometimes gather the cross body strap in the same hand holding the shorter handles. It's been very convenient having both carrying options.
