I always gravitate toward the satchel. I have a black Coach, a putty Cynthia Rowley, and a chocolate Marc Jacobs. I have an aubergine hobo by Biasia, and while I like the color and the fact I can wear it on my shoulder, I find it difficult to get into. I am looking for a more structured bag in light brown or tan, but really am not into metallics or spy bags or paddys or anything that Sienna Miller might carry. I am 33, and would like something age appropriate. Does anyone have any suggestions? I am looking for an everyday bag. I'd like something timeless in terms of quality and construction-not something that I'll have to replace in 6 months.

What do you think about this MJ? This is the s/s2006. I got the pic from eluxury. I am thinking about this one myself. But I don't think you carry this on your shoulder though if that's what you are looking for. Or the Ferragamo! this bag is gorgeous and you def can carry it on your shoulder! I bought the tan colour one. It's gorgeous. :love:

Now, is this second bag one that would fit on my shoulder? It is sometimes difficult to tell by the picture. I am really liking that second bag, though! I really do need something that I can wear over the shoulder.

I don't know what your price range is, so here are a couple of ideas:

I have the MJ Blake and I really love it. I'm 31 and a professional--it works really well for work, but it's also good for the weekends. I like that it has three compartments. The middle section does not have a zipper, but it's really good for putting a file and/or agenda in the middle standing up. You can still carry the purse in your hands. It's great for putting magazines in there on the weekends or stashing catalogs while you're shopping. I haven't seen the taupe in person, but it might work... I know it came in other earthtones, so you might find it in a department store.

All cute bags, wicked! I really am looking for a light brown or tan. That Ferragamo really caught my eye, would the best idea for looking for the tan be to just call them?

I bought the tan one at the Galleria Houston, at the Ferragamo boutique. I haven't seen the tan colour in other places (NM, Saks or online stores). The best thing to do to call I guess, I can give you the number and my SA's name if you needed.

Sweetea, I saw the Ferragamo on display in the boutique. Looks good! :idea: Any idea how much does it cost (I haven't dared to step into the shop yet)?

look at the bobellsshoes.com website- they have some great bags. you are describing something like the simple mulberry on his site (not the one with the outer pockets and buckles)
