I adore corundums: blue, pink, red, purple!!!. I had never seen a lavender sapphire before and had to have this. It is a .77 carat sapphire in a diamond halo setting. I also got earrings in the same color although the setting do not match. I am very excited. This is a pre pre birthday gift to me (I'm a Sept Sapphire birthday gal)

Stunning! That pendant is amazing and the earring gorgeous. Happy early birthday!

I adore the variety that sapphires offer and have a purple-tinged pink sapphire for my e-ring. Love, love, love them.

Thank you. I would love to have a sapphire thread here but I don't think they are as popular as other jewelery types. Did you post your e ring previously?

I hope this thread takes off. Someone just posted a sapphire ering in the ering thread. I just love all the variety it offers.

I did in the ering thread awhile back. Here's the larger version of my avatar with it alongside my dailies:

Wow that is a stunning e-ring! Love the color of the sapphire and the rose gold setting. Just curious, what does the wedding ring look like?

Thank you! I love pink, so we opted not to go the traditional route. Sapphires offer so many options and colors. Don't the wedding ring yet (still working out those details :D), but the designer makes a matching micro pave band.

Have you ever looked at the natural sapphire co? It's dangerous; there's so many choices there. They have some really unique and unusual stones too.

Yes i have been to their website before, beautiful and beyond my price range! Ah to be a millionaire!! I would cover myself in sapphires! Matching micro pave sounds very nice, look forward to seeing the set.

Oh please do. Are you considering a setting? I am a white metal gal, although rose gold would be lovely too, as leechiyong's setting is.

I bought it years ago along with a Golden Sapphire. The Purple Trillion is .95 carats & the Golden is .98 carats. I have several loose gemstones in Tanzanite, Spessertite & Hessonite Garnet, Apatite, Cambodian Blue Zircon, & Brazilian Opal. I bought them with the intention of having them set in something but just never got around to it. LOL

Sorry for the poor picture quality but I took them in their gem boxes.

Ooh, beautiful. I would find it impossible have all those lovely stones and not wear them. Please post if you do set any of them!

Just revisited the natural sapphire site, and I see there are many offering in an acceptable price range. Dangerous indeed!!!

Those are gorgeous!

Out of curiousity from someone who also has a loose stone to be set and wants to buy more, did you have designs in mind when you bought them or is that part of the dilemma?

No, I had some designs in mind for some of the stones. I bought 8-9 Spessartite Garnets for a bracelet but found out I needed more stones. The dilemma is finding matching stones. After I bought the purple sapphire, I thought I wanted to have earrings made but I haven't found a matching stone. I have about 2 dozen or more loose gems that I've collected over the past 15+ years in different cuts, shapes, & carat weight. I think one of the reasons I haven't had a lot of them set is because I generally prefer larger stones & carat weights in rings & pendants. A lot of the stones are around the 1 carat size. I have a 2+ carat black diamond that I want to have set in a halo pendant once I find the time. I really need to make an appointment with my jeweler to decide how to proceed.
