Made in SF (hopefully actually there and not some other country, call them and ask), looks like nice squishy leather though I have never seen one IRL

49 sq mi is not made in SF. They're made in China but are very nice quality wise.
Their showroom is open weekdays and is in South SF closer to the airport.
http://www.sfmade.org/ lists companies that make things in SF. I can't think of bagmakers offhand besides Rickshaw bags and certain timbuk2 models but both are nylon messenger bag styles. Most of the made in SF stuff I can think of is casual and messegery -not the usual tpf stuff. Hopefully someone else can chime in with either a brand or a good boutique for locally made items.
