Does anyone know when the change was made to begin charging sales tax to states that have no LV stores in them? I got quite a surprise today when I was adding items to my cart; needless to say, the items were removed.

Mine seems to have started March 1st. Was looking at items in February because I saw a thread about it and wanted to see if my state was affected and I had no sales tax in February. Then add an item to cart here in March and bam, sales tax! I am in Oklahoma.

I think eventually the only states where one won’t get taxed online will be the 5 that don’t have a sales tax..,Alaska, Delaware, Montana, New Hampshire, and Oregon.
So less than 3% of the US population will be making tax free online purchases forever unless these states implement a sales tax!

The internet had no sales tax for anyone in the early years as a move to push sales to the web. ...and now the internet is taking away from street retail so the push is to move in reverse to level the playing field.

It seems only fair to pay sales taxes on all purchases. The world has changed and we buy a lot of things online. Most US states have roads and bridges that look like a third-world country and vastly underfunded public education systems. I’m happy to contribute with my sales taxes to help fix the problem!

I just noticed this today! SAD! I wish they would have told us somehow! I think it was nice that those of us with NO Client Advisor or store nearby could at least have that perk. What a bummer! :(
