Hi Everyone,

I've been gazing in person and on the website at the new version of the Saffiano totes and would like to take advantage of the sale Macy's has going on till the end of today. Some of the totes I saw in the store had scratches on the bottom - I think it was the e/w cornflower. I don't know if it is because it was a lighter color or what.

I am debating between bronze and navy. I like the black a lot, but I don't know if I should do black in this. I'm travelling to India in June and would like to use it as my carry on purse - it seems like it can hold a lot, so I can keep it under the seat, or by my feet (yes, i know, eww...) I also have kids, so this way I don't have to keep getting up to pull the big carry on suitcase down everytime they need something - I can keep the basics in this tote. The zipper pocket also works well to stow away passports, boarding cards etc. This is my purpose (for now) for this bag.

Given this, what color should I go for? I'm not so worried about co-ordinating - I wear what I feel like and don't really worry about being matchy matchy. I'm more worried about the color being able to hide sins and I'm wondering if the navy is better than the bronze in that regard.

I have also read that coach has had problems with metallics in the past - do you think the same might be true of this leather too? Or might this be different? I've have searched as much as I can, and I thought I would ask you lovely ladies for your input. I do plan to use the living daylights out of this bag, so from that sense, color is important to me. The bronze is awfully pretty and can be used all year ( I think ), but will it be as forgiving as navy or black??

Thank you so much for your time and input. Greatly appreciate it! TIA.

I have both colors, but I love the BRONZE ! Looks great with everything.
I got the navy just to have something in that solid color since it is a nice dark blue .
Both have same light gold hardware, which looks great on them.
(imo) The bronze is the best metallic I have seen Coach come out with in the saffiano n/s tote.
I have spilled coffee on it and it wiped clean without a problem. Finish looks great.

Thank you, this makes me feel so much better! I am drawn to the bronze, but want to make sure that I'm making a sensible choice.

ETA: I have a few navy bags - a navy Kristin rouched hobo and a pinnacle lake Ally hobo.

Bronze. I know you said you don't need to be matchy w/ your clothes, but the bronze would look killer w/ "desi" clothes :) and it would shimmer so beautifully in the sunlight! Enjoy your trip!

Ha ha - exactly what I was thinking! My SA always accuses me of being afraid of color and getting just the basic color bags. My tops (kurtis) have so much color and so much going on that wearing a bright color bag makes the overall picture LOUD. Obviously that is not visible in the winter with jackets on all the time.

BTW, you must check out the hobo. I have it in silt and cornflower and it is so slouchy and yummy. The new sullivan hobo is also calling my name - either burnt camel or basic black - reminds me so much of the ergo hobo of yesteryears.

I'm gone for six weeks - just hoping I don't lose my sanity during that time

How is the new baby treating you???

I am on the bronze train as well. I'm short so felt like I couldn't pull off the N/S and I was bummed I couldn't get the E/W in that color. I ended up with the navy which I also think is gorgeous but that bronze is special. Hopefully they make it in something I can pull off!

I'm vertically challenged as well, but I just feel I carry off bigger bags better and smaller bags make me feel silly because I have the fluff factor to consider. The N/S is a big bag though - no doubting that. Which is awesome, 'cause as my kids get older I'm sure I'll have to schlep a few random things around!

That navy is gorgeous too! Down the road, that is still an option!!! ;-) although it seems to be flying off the shelves!
