I just bought a mini Christie from the fos this last time. I love the look but it is really stiff. I figured saffiano leather was stiffer than pebble but wasn't expecting that much. I never paid attention to saffiano before something about it not looking squishy always put me off from touching it. Does it soften up any after using or will it always be so stiff you can hardly get anything in the zippered pockets.

Saffiano will never be as smooshy or puddle as much as some other leathers, like those on Madison line for example. But the saffiano bags I have have loosened up a little.

Thanks for the reply. I knew it would never be as squishy as the madison line (which i love my phoebe' s for) but wasn't sure if it would loosen up at all. I'll just have to play with it a bit. I like the style too much to send it back.

As the other poster said - it will never be soft and squishy. One thing I've found is that if it has any creases or dents, lines etc... (sometimes from packaging) - those "flaws" never seem to soften or go away. I bought 2 saffiano bags - and after finding that out with the first, I returned the un-used second one.

Good to know about the dents not coming out. Seems that leather would be very susceptible to that.

Ditto; if they have dents, they're there to stay, and sometimes maybe for the worse as well.
