I've been posting about this over at the Michael Kors forum however decided to make a quick post here.

My MK selma mini broke and, long story short, MK customer services made me cut it up for a replacement (which I made a video of me doing, because it's not every day one gets to cut up a designer bag) :p

Anyway, although I've had this experience with electronics, where they make you cut the attached wire to make sure you aren't just scamming them for another free *something*, I was surprised to be asked to do it for a designer bag! :graucho:

I guess when your bags are made in Vietnam you can afford to have your customers cut them up for a replacement, although I still expected them to just repair it (less than half an inch of leather had come unsewn).

Has anybody else had an experience like this?

Stores will cut up or destroy "damaged" bags before putting them in a trash compactor or sending them away. I've not heard of them asking a customer to cut up a bag.

I know right! So crazy. I sent off the pictures of the destroyed bag too late on Friday and MK customer services must not work weekends, so I haven't received a reply which leaves me incredibly anxious. I start thinking crazy when I'm anxious like, "what if I wasn't really emailing a customer service person?!" :p

THAT would be scary!!! I'm curious to hear what you find out tomorrow!

"I have confirmed your order and the new bag will be with you within ten days.

DHL may contact you on the phone for delivery."

I leave the country (for 3 months!) in 8 days, think it will arrive by then?

Cutting it close, eh? (Cutting, get it? Haa haa, kidding).

It'll probably take a day or two to process...meaning to find, pack your replacement, and get it to a shipping center. From there depending on how far you are, a day or 5 days if they opted for the in expensive shipping option.

I hope you get it before you leave!!
