I LOVE the saddle bag, and I own 3, but I keep reading on Facebook groups that they’re losing popularity - and rapidly losing value. Is this true? I’ve loved them back in the 90s and have been rejoicing ever since Dior relaunched them lol. So it’ll be sad if they’re fading out again.
Thoughts?

They certainly aren't as popular as when they were all the rage a few years ago (and all over social media) when Dior reissued the Saddle, but that is normal for any bag after its release or re-release. This doesn't mean that they are fading out. Fashion goes through cycles where people look for the next hot item all the time, and brands have to keep their offerings looking fresh while keeping some styles "iconic". It's a successful strategy that has boosted revenues at brands like Fendi (with their Peekaboo and Baguette) and Gucci (with their Jackie and Bamboo 1947). The Saddle is one of Dior's two iconic styles, so it isn't going away anytime soon.

That’s good to hear. Won’t be parting with my 3 babies regardless but. I’ve to know the saddle bag won’t be put to bed again yet!

have faith in your own presences.

I saw a young woman the other day absolutely rocking hers (sorry that I didn't take a picture for you). I could see she was so proud of showing it off too, lovely to see.

Where I live, Chanel is number 1, and then it's mostly mix of Hermes, YSL, and gucci. I do see some Dior from time to time (usually lady dior, saddle, and dior book tote), but it's not as prevalent. Which is sad because I'd be happy to see more Dior around haha.

A Dior saddle bag always pops up from time to time, I never really see it go away.
And since it was brought back from the past, I feel that it is here to stay. It may not be the "it bag" or the hottest bag currently, but I think there's a place for it.

I believe fashion is cyclical, 90s boot cut jeans are back, so are 90smakeup styles. Personally i love quirky and unusual items and do not buy into trends. I buy what i love and i like to have things that others do not find favourable. I have one saddle bag bought preloved in 2000s and so happy that i have it seeing how the craze came back. But i am still keeping mine due to its uniqueness. If you love yours so be it, it’s comes down to how the item is being worn rather than the item wearing you.

I do think its kind of funny, because I feel it depends where you read or see your “news or information” Like you can scroll on tik tok and youtube .. and like you said different groups on facebook and see a lot of “this is out of style” content. For me I no longer bother watching these stuff as I do think they are very negatively loaded :blah: I think you should not worry about what everybody thinks! Enjoy yout saddles! I live in a place where I have not seen anyone wear it before! So

I own one and I LOVE IT and I won’t stop wearing it because some people say it’s out of trend, precisely because I’m not a huge fan of trends and I only buy pieces that match my personal style. I bought mine because was a limited edition that screamed my name hehe, I fell in love with it as soon as I saw it:heart:

Most YouTubers once they become priced out of a brand or a bag put out these negative videos calling “basic bags/bags out of style”

This is soo wrong ! They are too expensive to be called as basic .
Styles and trends always go out and come back trending again.
Saddle is a lovely style , so unique - don’t listen to any one but you !
They probably can't afford it anymore so are talking trash to make themselves feel better.
