I'm done with grad school, I've secured my first legitimate job, and I'm treating myself to a beautiful black bag because I think I deserve it. ;)

I've only bought mid-priced handbags up until now (my most expensive purse is a Alexander Wang) so this will be my first "big girl" bag... I'm set on either a Saint Laurent Sac de Jour or a Celine Mini, both in black.

And I just cannot, for the life of me, decide which one to get... The Celine is a classic and is beautiful, draws your attention right away. But the Sac de Jour is understated in the best way and has the shoulder strap which is nice.

Thoughts, opinions... Please help sway me one way or the other :/

Congrats on completing grad school! I'm looking into getting the SDJ too, I would say get the SDJ! Both bags are heavy, and the Celine mini does not come with a shoulder strap while the SDJ in small does.

The SDJ. If you're talking about the mini Luggage (as opposed to another Celine bag), I think it's a very trendy piece that's already falling out of favor. It's easily dated to the early 2010s. Whereas the SDJ as been around forever and is truly a classic piece.

Here to further confuse... Have you considered a phantom? I thought I wanted a mini but ended up with a phantom and adore her. The lines are similar to the mini but the bag is just more substantial and lux to me. Good luck!
