SA sent me old Cashmere scarf

Was in one of the boutique stores in Vegas and found a cute cashmere scarf on display, tried it on and asked the SA if they have a new one that I can buy, the SA checked and said another store has three of them and they should have a new one and she will order it for me and FedEx it to my home. Today I got the scarf and it was exactly the one I tried on display since I have a good memory that there was a scratch close to the tag. Sooo mad that the SA lied to me and completely waste my time. The scarf is almost $2,000… I will return it but it’s definitely not the right service to a loyalty customer… need your advice what I can do to escalate this issue, and I still want to buy the scarf but a new one… TIA !!!

I’m indifferent about what the others have said. Is she your regular SA? Or was this the first time you’ve done business with her?

If she did order the item from another store, it would be a charge send from that store. Therefore you would have the receipt of purchase from that store that sent it but she would still get credit for it. What’s the receipt say?

If you’ve never done business with her; I would not let her make it right. She was lazy about following through with the send sale from the other store, violated your trust and took advantage of the situation. IMO.

I'm sorry this happened to you. What I do not understand is why the Sa would send you the display scarf after you specifically requested another scarf from a different store. I refuse to believe this was a OOOPS I made a mistake. I'm not sure if you was present when the Sa rang up your purchase the receipt will show a charge send or store purchase.

When I was in the store, she checked the system and told me the other store has 3 of that scarf in stock, she will order it for me, and that store will send me a text message ticket to pay for it. I told her clearly that I don’t want this display scarf that’s why she (seems like) checked thru their system for me. I’m completely screwed up by her laziness or lies…
 
I am all for giving the SA the benefit of doubt.
However, not to fuel your anger, but this is not unheard of. There is a similar account also in Las Vegas.
Lux Purse Love had the exact same thing happen to her for a Lady Dior bag.


If I recall correctly, she believes this to be an honest mistake.

Las Vegas has relatively high inventory and is a very popular destination for luxury shopping.
Statistically, the more purchases there are, the higher chance of a mistake happening.
I’m not saying it’s a good excuse, but it’s likely human error.

Personally I’ve had my fair share of frustrations with online luxury shopping and shipping issues. (Maybe I’m cursed lol) From Hermes packages being stolen to carriers being very unhelpful or lacking information over the phone.
I never ask anything to be shipped to me now. I buy only in person. If it’s not there, then that’s okay. I don’t have to have it, there are always other things to buy.

Did you get a text message ticket to pay for it? Confused how you could get that but the receipt would still be from the original store?

From reading what this person is saying looks like the Sa rang up the sale for the display scarf and shipped this same scarf to her. So no the customer wouldn't get a text message or a link to pay from the second store because the Sa never put this sale transaction into the system. This is why I always check my receipts before walking away from the counter.

I did get a text message ticket to pay for the next day, since the SA told me that she would order from the other store and they that stop would send me the text ticket. However apparently she didn’t order from other stores, but sent me the link from her store and shipped me the display scarf.

Sounds like the Sa got confused or distracted since she sent you a text message from her store.
