Unpopular opinion: I thought Love Story was a terrible and stupid movie. However. I would have watched Ryan reading the telephone directory (remember those?) for the same amount of time and been delighted. RIP Ryan.
It was definitely a product of its time. It’s embarrassing what passed for being “deep” in 1970. Of course the movies made today will be equally cringey in 50 years.
Idk... I'm old enough to remember him at his best; however, having read Tatum O'Neal's autobiography, it's hard to unsee the real him.
He was a beast with Farrah too.

Honestly, I am over reading celeb tell alls. They ruin the memories. The last one was the Brady Bunch. I would just rather enjoy my memories.
I remember he was horrible to Farrah. I felt sorry for her, and she passed away way too young.
The whole family was a mess. Apparently Tatum made peace with him in the last years of his life. Also Patrick talks warmly of him. The rest of the kids kept their distance and they had good reasons to do so. Still warms my eternally, and maybe foolishly, optimistic heart to see the family being able to patch things up after the horror they went through.
