I saw this diamond on Instagram and was curious about the cut. Is it a brilliant cut? It seems to have more facets? I have very limited knowledge about diamonds so I’m sorry if I’m using these terms incorrectly! I like the appearance, but it seems different than typical round diamonds I’ve seen. Curious if anyone has any thoughts. Thanks!

Looks like a poorly cut modern round brilliant to me. Although it’s possible it could be one of those rounds that are special cut with extra facets, which I just consider marketing gimmicks.

Thanks for the reply! That makes sense that the cut totally affects how it appears. I didn’t consider it was just a poor cut. It doesn’t have the same gray areas/depth that I’ve noticed in other diamonds.

It also looks like a heavy included diamond, I can see from the picture two large feathers thru the table. It is very hard to tell the cut, from my old eyes.:flowers:
