It's actually spelled bougainvillea.... the incorrect spelling may be why it isn't coming up on a search.

It's "bougainvillier" in French. The swatches do indicate it as such, not "bougainvillea" from what I remember.

could it be if spelled correctly as in bougainvillea, the french will pronounce it as bougainvilLEEEE

spelt as bougainvillier, in a french tongue it'll sound close to the proper pronunciation of the name (ok read that the flower is spelt as such in france)

what do i know? i just know the tropical flower, this bougainvillea, is super common back home. my mother pronounces it as bo gay villa in ..chinese tongue. LOL

Funny! The way you pronounce bougainvillea in english is similar to how you pronunce bouganinvillier in french....so maybe....
