rose gold was popular back in russia in the nineteenth century, it has recently started to come back in the past years. I personally am not a fan and think it's a fad. Classic yellow gold, white gold and plat will never die. Simple, yellow gold is the standard for monetary exchange, white gold and plat stays cause it's the primary choice for setting diamond jewelry.

Rose gold has been around for ages and I reckon that just cos it has been increasingly popular in recent years does not necessarily make it a fad.

Re the rose gold MK watch, I'd say get it if you liked it.... especially since it is not overly expensive. I have a rose gold franck mueller that was bought more than 6 years ago and still adore it.

I was wanting a new watch and I have my eye on a rose gold mk. How long do you think this fad will be around?

I think Rose gold is forever. Once a time it was very popular and people liked to use it. And again in recent years it has become popular again. Personally I am great fan of it and I also think that it will not fad in recent days.:smile1:

Rose gold is timeless, I've noticed that it's really only older and more traditional folk who don't find rose gold timeless but it might just be who I've interacted with.

^^^ good for you.

My parents got married in 1941. My mom had a rose gold ring. Fad? Not hardly.
Its become more popular lately, that's all.
The mk watch will look dated long before the color does. Who cares. If you like it, wear it with pride!

18kt gold will always look rich & elegant. No matter if its rose, gold, or white.

this exactly!
I have a few antiques in RG and a few recent acquisitions, including a Love. It won't bother me when there is less around, but I'm enjoying it's current popularity.

i don't think Rose gold is trendy or a fad. it's had periods of more popularity but so have the other colors. i grew up in the late 70s, early 80s and think that has a lot to do with why i only wear Yellow gold - that's what was popular then. then in the 90s and since White gold and Platinum have become the most popular color. but if you look around you'll always see all three. i like the antique look the Rose gold gives pieces. i have a LeVian Rose gold ring with a pink amythest and chocolate diamonds and i love it, it looks very Art Deco to me.

Rose gold has gone in and out of vogue for a long time. I have a rose and white gold Cartier link watch that belonged to my grandmother. I think she bought it in the 1940;s. I am enjoying the renewed popularity and bought a Bvlgari B Zero in white ceramic and rose gold to match a white ceramic and rose gold watch. I too had my eye on a Kors rose gold for a long time and literally just bought it a few days ago. It is the Camille with the white face and rose gold numerals. Amazon has excellent prices for them. I think the rose is a nice change off from white and yellow.
