This is a Roma in Nero purchased from the BV boutique on 5th Avenue in Manhattan. It has the gunmetal hardware they are favoring again this year , The hardware is silky smooth, matte and not marked with any maker's information.

2012 Roma bag Identification markings: Just the stamped BV /Made in Italy :
It's on the inside, on the black leather facing, no little tab, no metal placque like the vintage BV bags bear . This is located just above the lower edge of the facing.
There is one zip pocket in the bag. There is no marking on the zipper pull, only a leather tab. It has a small paper (Tyvek?) tag sewn onto the side seam near the bottom which reads: BOTTEGA VENETA, Made in Italy.
On its reverse is the serial number and the word AUTHENTICITY CeRTIFIED (Note all markings are in English) which should be repeated on a brown card which is included with the bag:
The final clue that you have an authentic bag: the leather fine grained, and is silky soft smooth and supple, so beautiful you could weep.
Hope this helps,
The official name of this bag is the Nero Intrecciato Light Calf Roma, Style # 171265 VQ130 1000. It is approximately 15 1/2" x 10" x 6-1/2 (hard to measure the bottom). The handle is about 7" high from the bag to the top of the handle when carrying it.
Note that it is made of calf, not nappa leather. The calf is super smooth and as it is denser, it is heavier, but perhaps more durable. The lining is the pigskin suede in a medium taupe color.
