Rolex - To Trade or Not To Trade?

Should I trade?

  • Keep pink MOP w/ arabic markers and leave as-is?

  • Trade for new cream MOP w/ roman markers?

  • Keep pink MOP w/ arabic markers and put aftermarket band on?

I have a beautiful 26mm Datejust with pink MOP dial and arabic numerals. I love the face! However, the jubilee band is a bit stretched out and I prefer the hidden clasp. I don't believe that the new style bracelet can be put on my older model. I also prefer the more solid case on the newer model. I found a nice aftermarket bracelet, but I don't know how I feel about aftermarket parts....

I just found a lovely new style 26mm Datejust with cream MOP dial and Roman numerals. The dealer is willing to trade with me, but I must decide shortly. I much prefer the case and bracelet. The dial is nice, but my current dial might be more interesting.

Should I trade for the new watch? I'll have to pay a bit more. Keep my watch and put the aftermarket bracelet on? I must decide quickly!

Here are a few more photos of the two. Thank you again for your thoughts!

Trade!! Modern Rolex watches are fantastic. I would never modify my Rolex with aftermarket stuff. I agree, your dial is amazing, but you would enjoy the new one more. Have you considered going up to the midsize 31mm?

Thanks for the opinions! I'm actually not the model in those photos. I have a sizeable watch collection and have plenty of larger watches. I sold a larger rolex because I found it irritating. I am only 5'2 and have 6 inch wrists so I believe that the 26mm is an ok size on me for daily wear.

Then 26mm is perfect for you! Beautiful watch.

Oh no... the poll is even! I'm still a bit stuck, but I'm leaning heavily towards a trade since I need a new bracelet anyway.

Thank you, all who have weighed in so far!

Trade it! The new bracelet is so much better. I have Romans and love them (although my dial is white). The model you're considering is super.:smile1:

Don't go with the aftermarket bracelet. It just won't compare to Rolex quality.
