I am trying to select a watch, preferably one that looks good worn on the same side as my rings. Today I went to my AD and tried on three different sizes and combinations...a mid-size Datejust, 36mm Datejust, and a Yacht-Master. Which do you think looks best?

I am not sure...I'm trying to decide whether the watch needs to "match" my rings, and while I am not a fan of the all gold, the DJ in SS/YG reminds me of a "dad" watch on my arm. Just saw your post on TRF...Happy to find another TRF fan...that's three on this forum so far!

I own a stainless midsize date and a ss/18K midsize yachtmaster, so it's hard for me to pick a fave. However, I think the ss/18K will look better with your ring. I would go for the white or gold face though. There's too much going on there with the blue face.

roussel too. i just joined when i was looking for my first rolex. no, it does not look old, believe me. it looks classic! who is the other member here? see on trf they will go for the bigger watch for sure. i notice they like sportier models there, even the ladies. i dunno, i think the bigger watches are more casual and trendy. i guess it depends on what you're going for. if you like a more casual style, then go for the bigger watch, but not too big.

If I go with the YM, it would be either white, slate or Tahitian MOP dial...the blue was the only one they had in the case, so that's what I had to try. I agree, the blue is a bit much.

ijen0311 and Ayla are both on TRF, too. :D I tend to dress somewhat casually, even when in "business attire"...but I want something flexible for everyday.

I voted for the first one too.. although I prefer bigger watches myself.. but the other two look too masculine to me IMO...
The yacht-master may look nicer if you got a lighter colored face just as Juilletdix suggested.. in a midsize though...
