Hi everyone, I'm in a dilemma of sorts n was wondering if you could help me out.
I've posted the same in the Hermes forum n almost 95% of the votes have gone to the birkin. But ofcourse :D I'd like to know what all you say as well.

For my birthday which is tomorrow :yahoo:, I had told DH that I would very much like a watch that I could wear day in and day out. So I settled on a SS/YG 36mm Rolex Datejust with diamond markers, since it's alittle low-key. I was pretty much set.

But herein comes the dilemma.
3 days ago my SA informed me that he would be receiving an Orange Birkin 35 togo GHW something that I have been longing for quite awhile.
It would be perfect with almost everything.

Generally, I'm not so indecisive but I have to say I'm in a spot here. What do u say TPFers? What should I get?

(Currently I own a Gold birkin PHW n a RG Birkin PHW. Both are 35.

N a WG Diamond studded bazel Franck Mueller Curvex, which I love n wear everyday)

Hmmm.....This IS a dilemma. Ordinarily I would say in a case where you don't already have a nice watch OR a birkin to go with what you don't have. But you have two birkins AND a nice watch that you wear. You have a red birkin currently and I know for some people the Hermes Orange one is somewhat of a Holy Grail....but I actually lean towards the Rolex which I am shocked by!

Given you already have 2 Birkins and only 1 watch, ordinarily I'd say even things up and get the Rolex... but as you say you have been longing for this Birkin, and given the timing it has come up I feel perhaps it's a sign to go for the Birkin. The Rolex is something you can get relatively easily compared to how limited Hermes is.

Good luck deciding, and Happy early Birthday!

I would go with the orange birkin, now if it was a piece of jewellery instead of a watch I would vote jewellery! a watch to me is something I only wear at work so I dont think its as much of a holy grail as a birkin :D

Thankyou all for such a quick reply..

ame The Rolex does have more wearability. I can wear it everyday without having to worry about it (I'd have to be careful with the Orange Birkin) But ofcourse both are classics which makes this all-the-more-difficult.

Rolex! You already have two other Birkins and you were aiming for something you could wear everyday compared to your other watches. The rolex definitely fits that bill ! And it can be worn regardless of your outfit. The orange birkin is highly desirable (and great choice by the way!) however I don't think it's something that you can wear everyday and get as much wear as the rolex.
