The Oyster Perpetual is 34mm and has no date. The Datejust is 36mm, has the date, and is available in countless dial/band/metal/bezel configurations. The OP is significantly more price-friendly if you do not need the date feature or a fluted bezel, yellow gold band, or specific dial.

Oyster Perpetual and DateJust - both an Rolex automatic watches.
HOWEVER the movement in a DateJust is a certified movement - so generally a higher standard. The OP tends to be an all steel watch (usually but not un every case) whilst th DateJust is available in many more options - steel, steel with gold and solid gold.

Both are great watches. Both will last a lifetime!

Hello,
that is only for the new pieces. In vintage piece - these rules do not apply.

Also - I think the poster is a lady - so she is referring to the ladies version.

Agreed on the mens version however.
