Hi all!

I’ve been having a debate between the Datejust 31 in stainless steel or two tone. I know I definitely want the jubilee bracelet with the fluted bezel but I’m having a debate with the dial.

Option 1: Datejust 31 in Stainless Steel with the fluted bezel in dark grey dial with the tick as hour markers

Option 2: Datejust 31 in Two Tone Yellow Gold and Stainless steel with the fluted bezel and the champagne dial with the ticks as the hour marks.

I’m worried that the champagne dial will be too shiny and I have yet to find one at a Rolex dealer near me. I’ve been to 4 stores in 2 weeks and everything is out of stock

Any advice or photos of your watches would be appreciated!

I just recently had a similar dilemma, and the same experience while visiting several ADs. The ss version pictured above will be easier to read (much), not sure if that's important to you. Two-tone is very lovely in general, though not as modern, and on a 31mm jubilee band it tends to "divide" the overall size aesthetically, which in this size is small to begin with. Just my $.02.. good luck deciding and let us know what you end up purchasing.

These are great choices because they're considerably different, so you can drill down pretty clearly on how your vibe is these days. One is warm, one is cool. One is ultra traditional, the other more modern. In your precious metals preference, are you a gold person, a silver, a mixed? Worth thinking about.

For me personally I'd go WG/steel with no hesitation, far more fresh and modern. Plus, I've been around long enough to recall that Champagne with two-tone was the Rolex look for women decades ago, and it will always look tired to me because of that.

The dark grey dial and SS looks lovely and much more interesting to me than the TT. That champagnendial is my personal least favorite but you should just go with what YOU love. Have you considered different markers? Either simple diamond or Romans? The stick markers seem very masculine to my eye.

That is definitely a good point about the visibility. I did see the grey dial with the white markers in the 28mm and it was much easier to see the time. Thank you for your input ☺️

I usually wear only silver jewelry and have yet to own anything gold. I’m just worried if later on in life I will have gold jewellery but it doesn’t match well with my watch . Seems like the two tone has very mixed reviews online!
My personal style I would say is leaning toward more cool tones/modern taste so the SS version may be the one I’m leaning more toward. ☺️

Yeah the dark grey dial definitely caught my eye in store. I was possibly thinking of the green dial, but I’m worried it might be hard to match.
I did consider the diamond markers, but something about the stick markers just “talks to me,” if you know what I mean haha

My pick of the two would be the all stainless steel. Admittedly, I am not a fan of most two tone jewelry pieces. I think the all ss with the silver dial and baton markers is more classic and very wearable for years to come! I have a similar configuration and my hubby has the dark gray dial and he loves it!

Thank you for the photo! Love your datejust yes I totally agree with you that the SS will be very wearable as well. I’m definitely going to put more thought into this

Having own a TT Lady Datejust 26 that’s more than 10 years old and SS Datejust 31, about 4 years old. I vote for TT Datejust 31 fluted bezel, jubilee bracelet but not champagne dial. I would go for white dial - clean and fresh with numeral markers.

Ou glad to hear someone’s opinion who likes both! I love how the classic markers glow in the dark lol I know it sounds trivial but I really like it! I wish they had that option in the white dial!
