Hello everyone ,

Last week, My husband and I created a wishlist at the Rolex AD and I tried on a Datejust 31 jubilee with fluted bezel in two tone with rose and steel , silver face with diamond markers. I had put yellow gold two tone on my wishlist because I figured it’s a classic and won’t go out of style. I really did love the rose gold and how subtle and pale the color was but I’m not sure how long rose gold will be relevant and I want to wear it for a long time and pass it on to my daughter . Also, my rings are platinum and white gold and on my right hand I wear a yellow gold Cartier love , so it would be some metal mixing .

The watch was reserved for someone else but yesterday I followed up and that other client is out of the country so it’s now on hold for me. My birthday is in September and we were hoping to get something by then and this just fell into our laps. I’m so conflicted, I do love it just worried about the practicality of rose gold. The dial, diamonds , everything else is perfect. My husband prefers the rose gold on my skin tone. Wish I had a picture but I didn’t take one. I also own a stainless steel Cartier tank. We’ve been to a few locations and they have all said a datejust in 2 tone yellow gold with MOP or silver dial would be a long wait. If I’m honest with myself, I like the look of either gold , both are beautiful, just the other factors of mixing metals and rose gold being a trend are making me hesitate. Thanks in advance for your help. Oh I also tried on another one and I’ve attached a pic for reference. But I’m not considering buying it IMG_7563.jpeg

I love rose gold. I have a Datejust in stainless and rose gold and it is by far my most complimented watch. Rose gold has been popular for a while now, and personally I think it will continue to be. On the other hand, I don't mind mixing metals. I think you have to be 100% in love with anything at these price points!

Rose gold is not a trend. YG and WG also have their moments when each is all the rage. But, style is individual so buy what you love and will wear. You've said "I really did love the rose gold". Also, that the "dial and diamonds are perfect". I think RG is soft and feminine and subtle enough to blend in, regardless of mixing metals. Best thing to do is try it on again. Remember, this watch is for you. Not your daughter. Her tastes may be different so buy for yourself, no-one else.

If it was my decision to make, I would pass. I am not a fan of Rolex rose gold. It looks very coppery to me. And while I am a fan of mixing metals, adding rose gold into the mix with platinum/WG/YG is too much for me. (My wedding rings are platinum, my Rolex is YG/WG DJ and I wear a YG Cartier JUC) At one point I also had a RG Cartier love bracelet but sold it...

I love rose gold, but it depends on your skintone. I have a rose gold Cartier watch, but I also have yellow gold and tri-colored gold watches and love them equally. It just depends on the day…. Trust your gut. I tried on this gargantuan 36 mm stainless/rose gold Rolex when we went to pick up a watch for DH. I have tiny wrists and this watch was completely overwhelming in size. I might have been tempted if it were a lot smaller.

I think I’d pass. If you really loved it you’d be sure and wouldn’t be spending so much time questioning. You’re hesitating. I’m not certain you’ll be satisfied.

I love rose gold. That’s all I wear. It feels softer than yellow gold. Here’s mine
I’ve been on several wait lists over the years for the TT with white MOP and Diamond markers.

I second guess myself with all this stuff , i don’t trust myself enough and want to make sure im making the best choice . It also doesn’t help that I like everything lol.

Thank you everyone for your input! I am comforted by how well liked rose gold is

I actually love Rolex's RG reference. I think it's just so pretty, but I also love RG in general as well. But, with that being said, you have to get what YOU love and want. Like others have said, if you're questioning it now, you may regret it later.

Thanks everyone. Honestly after thinking about it, I am just concerned that a rose gold with a silver dial won’t hold as much value. I know I shouldn’t think like that but it’s such a big purchase. I know MOP and yellow gold TT are better “investments”. But I do think it’s a beautiful combo for me and I know most Rolexes are just hard to get nowadays. And I think the diamonds stand out more on a silver dial as opposed to MOP. Anyway deciding today !
