Hi guys! Just received a beautiful regular rogue in saddle, love it. But: do you guys take it to work and carry a separate bag for A4 files or do you just use it in the weekends? I don't want to buy a 36 be- cause that would really be just for work...appreciate your experience on this!

The double bag question, it's always a quandary! I used to try and double-duty my purse and my business case, and it usually wasn't a good fit and much too heavy. After I started carrying a laptop as well as files I decided that I needed to keep them separate.

I carry a light-weight, strong large bag for my business items and my purse is separate. I use the quilted Vera Bradley bag shown below along with some VB and Coach accessories

When I am traveling or taking public transportation (I used to work in the city and take the train to work) I use a small, rolling bag for my business items and carry a purse that is suitable for my travel needs. A lot of commuters carry backpacks on their shoulders but I don't care for them.

My advice is to experiment and see what works best for you.

I am sure that others have struggled with this issue and come up with different solutions and I would love to hear them!

I use a large Coach men's leather work tote that I bought 6+ yrs ago for my work stuff. That sucker is a workhorse and its the one Coach bag I don't baby. You can't tell its used as much as it has. I use the long strap for that one and then use my shoulder straps for the Rogue and carry that over top. It isn't cumbersome at all.

I use a Rogue tote for my work stuff which usually includes a tiny bag with my breakfast/lunch items inside, an umbrella and whatever else I need that day - possibly shoes, a shawl/scarf, personal papers, etc. Then I carry a handbag which is either a regular sized rogue or maybe a nomad as far as reference for sizes. Then I also have my laptop bag! I don't like to put my laptop in my personal bags because I don't want the weight of it to harm my bags. I use the computer bag it came with. I drive to work only a few times a month. If I had to commute on public transportation, I'd ditch one of the bags somehow. Obviously, the computer bag would have to stay.

I'm so glad I don't have to bring a computer or files to work. I just keep it all in my desk. That being said, I pack all my food and use a backpack to carry that because it's the best way for me to carry things without my shoulder aching (minus a rolling luggage. If someone would make a really fashionable rolling work bag I would honestly buy it, but all the ones on the market right now are ugly and look like luggage). And then I use a small bag (about the size of a Rogue 25 to carry my personal items!

I would go for the bag size you want! In NYC, everyone is double-bagging during their commute!

No kidding! It's the same in Chicago, all the commuters are loaded down with multiple bags or back packs that are often big and bulky and they hit you on the head with them on the train platform! I do not miss public transportation!

Now that I am driving to work I use the black VB quilted bag I posted above to carry my laptop and files, but below is a pic of my rolling backpack that I used on the train when I worked in the city. Now I mostly only use it as an airplane carry-on when I travel for work.

It's just Samsonite but it has given good service and I've tried to give it a little bit of style by attaching my Snoopy Luggage Tag!

I have a Mickey Luggage Tag attached to my VB work bag, sometimes you just need a little something to make you smile when you are heading out to the job!

Maybe Disney should make a Seven Dwarfs Luggage Tag, you know "Hi Ho, Hi Ho! It's off to work I go!" :giggle:

I don’t have to carry any files or laptop so I kinda just stick to one regular sized bag. If I need to carry any documents or lunch I’ll bring my LC LePliage LLH that way I can fold it when I’ve left my documents
