Hi!

I just got a new Black pebbled rocco with rose gold studs a few weeks ago. It's not shaped like a duffel as it is supposed to be. Is there any way I can store it to give it more structure?
Also, how often should I treat it?

I use Apple products on my bags.

Thanks!

I actually want it to be more structured. So I don't know. Haha.

Also, is it safe to do the whole cleaner-conditioner-stain repellant every two weeks? What am I supposed to use for the hardware? I read Edge Kote, but we don't have that here. Any alternatives?

Maybe someone from the Philippines can chime in :)

Hi there, I think you might want to ease up on the conditioner as it will make the leather softer..I only overall moisturize my bags if the leather seems dry, and I use the conditioner on some areas that are stained, but just that area.

The color of your bag is black, so it's very easy to manage.. you don't have to apply repellent unless it's needed. I only apply rain and stain repellent every 4 months or so, depending on how many times I use it.

In regards to structure, I put stuffing paper in my bags to keep the shape. I'm very OC about the shape of my bags too.

EdgeKote is for piping, it's a protective topcoat for leather & it prevents the piping situation happening to Roccos without the newer reinforced piping style.

The hardware will be fine as long as it's not put on any rough surfaces or experiences too much friction, just give it a buff with a soft, clean cloth to brighten it up when it needs it.

I've got a Black & RG, it doesn't need EdgeKote as the piping is reinforced, I used the Furniture Clinic cleaner & protection cream but only every so often. Every two weeks is probably excessive imo.

Keep them stored stuffed with towels and they'll soon sort their own shape out.
If you want a more structured look, maybe look at an acrylic base shape and/or a Samorga type insert.

How will I know if the piping is reinforced? Is it reinforced on all AW roccos for 2014? I read they improved the piping, but I don't know how to tell :)

So, for the hardware, I need not use anything?

Thanks so much!

Hi,

I think they all have the new piping from the season that had Iodine onwards(a couple of years ago I think as this was my first Rocco).
Took a photo of two colours that show it up easily!
The blue one (Royal) has the new piping and the red (Cayenne) has the old.

The leather on the newer is coated whereas the older is just leather over the piping (the Cayenne's piping has been treated with EdgeKote & so has got a bit more of a sheen than the bulk of the bag).
Also took a quick one of my Black & RG but it's a bit dark to see but if you've got one that's got the reinforced piping that's what it will look like.

I haven't put anything on the hardware of mine and they've been fine
Hope this helps :)

I've had my matte black rocco for over a year and I never put any protectant on it. I tend to use this bag as an everyday bag for weeks at a time.

I also have a white diego and I treated that once when I bought it. I used it regularly through out the spring and summer without retreating it. I'll spray it again when I break it out for spring.

I keep my bags stuffed when not in use but I don't think these bags are really that structured...maybe look into a bag shaper if you want that look.
