I just got a Robinson Saffiano Double-Zip and I'm a bit surprised with the size. I thought the bag would be more tote-like, but it seems pretty small. It fits a 13" laptop case but I'm skeptical about how much else could fit in there.

For those of you who use this bag frequently, is it a workhorse or do you find yourself needing to carry a second tote to make up for the overflow? I'm not a crazy bag lady but for work travel I generally like to carry a laptop, wallet, magazine, notebook, and a few cosmetics. Does this bag do the trick for you or do I need to find something bigger? (I probably carry too-large bags more often than needed, FWIW.)

I find the bag pretty big, but for it to close nicely, you cant put too much in it as you need the magnets to fasten properly.

My main qualm about it is that it is way too heavy. any one else feels the same way?

I have this bag and the leather on the handle started coming(like rolling) off after a month or two. I think tory's bags are over priced for the lack luster quality. I could of gotten a lv for not much more.

I find that I take it to school with my macbook 13.1, two notebooks, 1 coin purse, 1 cosmetic clutch, my wallet, bottled water, pens, stray items and im pretty good with it. Depends on how much weight you can carry, im pretty good at weights.

I bought the double zip during F&F. I wanted to use it for work. After putting my 15" MacBook and a few other things in, I found it heavy to hold in my hand only and didn't like that the handle couldn't easy fit over my shoulder. I ended up exchanging it for the Robinson tote with the longer handle.

I love the bag and it has held up well so far (no sagging and no quality issues). It is heavy though, but I don't really mind because I just take my stuff straight from my car to my office when I go to work.

I've read in a few places that the crossbody stap hook placement is really poor on these bags. I just ordered one and I would like to be able to wear it crossbody and not worry about it ripping. I had an idea to add grommets/eyelets on the sides of the bag (in between the two snaps) to be able to clip the strap there. Has anyone else tried this?

I own several double zip totes including one that has taken quite a beating and I have never noticed this issue. I wear the bag mostly crossbody as I like to be hands free. I think it largely depends on what you are carrying. I usually have work files, an Ipad, makeup bag and my phones.

About a month ago, I bought the newer double zip Robinson tote in powder blue with the removable luggage tag - it has slightly different dimensions than the original model, and I think the logo itself is a bit smaller. I like to carry it in the crook of my arm or as a crossbody -- IMO the strap is a bit too long to carry it over your shoulder. I use this bag for work and on the weekends both, and I love it. I typically carry a cosmetic case, a full size wallet, 2 agendas, sunglasses, a water bottle, and a few other miscellaneous odds-and-ends.

Haven't noticed any quality issues yet, and the strap is holding up nicely. It's a pretty spacious bag, especially if you undo the snaps on the side. (And I'm a person who tends to gravitate towards bigger bags FWIW).

i have to say im lost with this bag. bought in in black, the newer style with the better placement of strap hooks, and after 4 days of use handles became sticking and looks like it was "cracking"......so, exchanged it for another black and then bought a windstorm color as it was then on sale. Just got around to using the second black that was an exchange last week to this week for 5 work days total and SAME ISSUE. OMG. Im shocked. the SA I called sound shocked and like im the only customer this has happened to. seriously? cant be ironic. BUT they did say they would refund my card or exchange try and third time. Im conflicted and LOVE this bag in black the best. Just looks so sharp and chic and classy in black. BUT, ugh. I have a change to get my money back. should I take it? maybe exchange for the luggage color in hopes it holds up? thoughts anyone? TIA for advice!

^^^ Exchanging it may not be of much help if they are from the same production line. Fall stuff is coming out so maybe you will get a bag from a new production. I personally would try one more time and then call it quits if it doesn't work out. I have a New Carnival tote that I still haven't used. I hope I don't experience this with mine.

I would be concerned with yours at this point....my windstorm bag seems okay but haven't used it much.....the leather seems more durable or "thicker" on it though.....maybe its just the color im challenged with since both bags are black. I would just return it.....BUT theres that big sale right now in stores and I can get another and a luggage at the moment and pay just a slight difference for the two, that is my challenge. BUT why do that if I go through this again and again. read so much bad feedback on quality of this specific bag.......starting to feel is the safe bet is to return it and get another LV down the road.
