I know people have had issues with the Neverfull in DE, but how about the straps in the Rivington GM DE? Anyone have issues with the straps cracking? Do the straps and edges soften with wear? If so, any suggestions how to speed up the softening process?

No problems with the straps on the rivington...mine was stiff too when I first got it but I've been wearing it a lot since its sooo comfy that it just softens up with use.
NO issues with the Rivington, except that sometimes it hurt my shoulders if I put too much in it and it got too heavy, as for the Neverfull, I hate that bag. So flimsy, floppy, and no zipper with the messy strings hanging from each end.
