Do you wear a slightly larger size in wider rings than thinner ones? If you do, how much larger? I am normally a size 6.25 and my rings slide easily on and off, but when I tried on my mother's wide ring which was a 6.5 it was actually fairly snug. Is this normal?

That is absolutely normal. I usually go up 1/2 a size in wider rings. I truly believe rings are like jeans, you have to try them on to see how they fit.

^^^ I agree. I think a slim band goes over the knuckle much easier because it "slides" Any wide band rings I have had I have to work at to get on and off my knuckle. i wonder why knuckles are the biggest part of the finger?

Yes. I had some trouble resizing a ring last spring because they used a wide sizer on me, which made them make it much too big. (the ring was delicate). The jeweller had to resize again, which I think annoyed them, because usually they charge a lot to resize platinum. They had to do this for free (you get one free sizing when you buy a ring there). I heard the one sales manager explaining to the one who had measured me that she couldn't use the sizer with the wider band on customers when they had a smaller ring to resize.

yup, i usually go up 1 to 2 sizes in a very wide band style, or half a size for slightly thicker bands. as long as my ring fits comfortably I dont care what size I'm wearing!!
