Okay, so I know the best way to find out your ring size is to visit a jeweller, but it isn't an option for me, so I've been trying to figure out my ring size at home using the various methods recommended online. The best method I've found is to try on various rings for fit. I don't have any, so my sister lent me two. One is a size 3, the other is a 5.5.

Here they are. The one on the left looks a little weird and wonky just because it has a unique setting that doesn't allow it to properly lie flat on a surface. But never mind that :smile1:

My first question is as to what size I should wear on my ring finger. I can put the 3 on easily and can take it off as well (somewhat less easily), but it's a little tight and uncomfortable. See here:

So I was thinking that if I ever bought a ring for this finger, I would get a 3.75. What do you think? Would a 3.5 be too small? A 4 definitely seems like it would be too big... But let me know.

Second question: What size do you think I should wear on my middle finger? The 5.5 doesn't fall straight off, but it slides down to my knuckle and turns itself around. Do you think a 4.5 would be good?

Me wearing the 5.5, definitely too big.

Attempting to wear the 3, lol.

I'm sorry for the length of this post and I'm sorry if it was boring :p I know it's hard to guess someone else's ring size, but I was hoping that with the pictures/info you might have some insight?

Thanks in advance :smile1:

Oh that is hard to tell from pictures too...because you have to try on and feel it yourself. Also the size of your fingers varies from morning to evening, at least it´s with mine :)
Maybe you can buy a ring sizing tool online and then try it on and send it back once you know your size...
Sorry for the german link, but it seems they are not expensive, so you might consider this before getting the wrong size...

^ I was about to suggest the same thing. I think a sizing tool like the one from Blue Nile would be your best bet to accurately figure out your ring size.

Definitely get a ring sizer from Blue Nile before you make any size decisions. The ring you are using to try to figure out your size might not be the right width or shape for you to make an accurate determination of size.

It really depends on the ring you are buying. Depending on the width, overall shape, fit, etc. you can need a different size than you think. I wear a couple of rings on my middle finger and they are all different sizes because they're made differently.

It depends on the particular ring. My exact same finger can be 5, 5.25, 5.5 or 5.75 depending on the designer. Also, weird as it sounds, your fingers shrink in the winter and swell in the summer due to the temperature drop. But like everyone else said, a ring sizer is a way to start and be sure to only buy rings from places that have great return/exchange policies.
