Ring photos..

I have always wondered about something, but am not sure how to best ask it without offending people. So if you do this, please know that I mean absolutely no offense and am genuinely curious

Why do some people photograph their rings on the part of their finger that is closer to their fingertip? Here is a photo of my ring, as an example. Is there a reason for photographing it this way, rather than on the finger how it is normally worn? Is it because it makes the ring look bigger?

Thanks for any insight, and again, I am truly curious (mostly because it seems to take more work to photograph this way)

That's actually a good question! I'll be interested to see if someone has an explanation. I always assumed it was because someone was selling a ring that didn't fit on her finger

I think it's because the rings are sample rings, sizes are not actual, therefore they are worn this way.

^exactly sample rings are always size 6 or smaller!

I have to agree. It's because the ring doesn't fit the finger. Just like this pic.

It is simply because the ring was not made to fit that person. Therefore they are only showing it for display

Another vote for incorrect size. But you really have to display a ring on a finger to show how it looks - otherwise the buyer might be disappointed with the size of the face.
