1) Which fingers are you wanting to buy rings for?
2) Are your fingers able to exchange wearing rings? (ie. the pointer finger and middle finger can wear the same ring on the same hand or other hand.)
Keep in mind the following things also changes your finger size:
- temperature (in hot weather, fingers swell, in cold weather fingers shrink)
- weight (gaining weight vs losing weight)
- diet (eating salty foods will make you temporarily retain water and fingers may swell)
- how often you wear your rings (the more often you wear them, especially the same one on the same finger, the higher change of your finger becoming more narrow overtime)
- age related things such as, losing muscle mass, having arthritis, etc.
I too bought my rings with longevity in mind. Over time as I wore rings more, my finger size became smaller. So I bought stopper rings for the rings that are now looser. Or I wear the looser rings in the summer when my fingers swell up more.
I also got a cyst in my left pointer finger from sleeping with a ring stack over night. My finger swelled up and it got very tight and painful. When I removed the rings, the cyst formed and I could no longer wear that stack. I wore that stack for about 6 years and was pretty upset about not being able to wear it anymore. However, I recently discovered that in the winter (when my fingers are smaller) I can wear the stack on my right pointer finger, so it ended up working out.
I think at the end of the day, we all come to accept that things change over time and we can't have some things forever. But we can try to make the best choices for the most optimal and long lasting outcomes. Enjoy what we have, wear what we enjoy and makes us happy and live in the moment when we wear what we love.
