Ring Insurance?

Would anyone mind sharing which company they use to insure their ring?

I tried to do a search, but there are so many options online. I've never personally had to file an insurance claim for anything so I have no first-hand experience...not sure which companies are good. TIA!!

Where are you based? I added mine to my household insurance as a separate item, using the receipt and paperwork for evidence of value.

In the UK at least, it is worth checking explicitly with insurers if you can claim back the cash value, as some insurers have partnerships with high street jewellers and want to give you vouchers instead - sorry but I'm not going to replace my Tiffany ring with something from H Samuels haha!

State Farm all the way for me. I have claimed several times and they have paid me in full via a check all times (some insurance companies reimburse vs. pay out first). No increase or cancellation in policy. No attitude or long drawn forms to fill. No forcing you to have to buy your replacement first.

Insurance for me is to have piece of mind I can wear my bling all the time. I prefer reputable companies. I would not recommend going with the cheapest. As they say, you get what you pay for.

Good luck to you!

I insure through Jewelers Mutual. Adding through Progressive was going to cost about 50-100% more per item per year over JM. My insurance covers a total of three watches and two pieces of jewelry. For those items it's a few thousand per year, but it's a fair price for peace of mind.
