Hello everyone. I recently purchased a Riley 22 thinking that it would be sold out, since it said that only one is in stock. Every time I checked, the status kept changing to “sold out” to “add to bag”. So I emailed Coach. They told me that “due to overwhelming response to this collection, it has sold out and we do not expect any additional inventory.” However, I checked back later and I saw that it was in stock again. This time with no “only 1 stock left!”.

Now, I purchased a supposedly “limited” grace bag two years ago and paid full price thinking that it was going to sell out. Eventually, that bag was discounted in a future sale.

Since I’m new to coach, I’m thinking that maybe this Riley bag might be in a future sale and would avoid paying full price for this bag. I don’t know if all of Coach’s bags make it to sales. But since I did paid full price for a bag and then it was eventually discounted, I would really like to avoid that again.

I was thinking that maybe I should cancel my order and wait until there is a future sale. However, how likely is the Riley 22 bag going to go on sale? Or should I keep the bag and my order? I purchased it thinking that it would be sold out.

You honestly just never know. There are some bags that truly sell out and you can’t find them later. Then there are some that you think will sell out out and instead many more are made, and they make it to the outlets. It really is hard to say. I have missed out on some bags, and I have also paid more than I should have for a bag that made it to all of the sales.

It is hard to gauge on whether bags sell out or not. I try to see if that bag is available at the department stores like Macy’s/Dillard’s or only at the high end department stores like Bloomingdales. This helps me figure out if it’s a common bag or more exclusive because that means to me that there are going to be a good supply of them (if common) and I can wait for a sale. I don’t remember seeing the Riley 22 anywhere else but Coach

Coach inventory is hard to figure out, sometimes a bag that was sold out shows up later in a sale or at the outlet. We think maybe this happens due to overseas inventory that’s released for sale here in the US or simply just inventory they held back for whatever reason and they are now clearing out. Some bags are sold out and never seen again except in the secondhand market.

If you really like the bag and want it for your collection, keep it. If it’s going to bother you down the road to see it discounted, maybe it’s not a purchase you want to make.

You have 30 days to decide if you want to keep or return the bag. It is a beautiful bag, in my opinion.
I placed an order for the Riley 22 in Signature Canvas during the past weekend when Rakuten was 12% for Coach orders. However, my order was canceled because the store that was supposed to fulfill the order did not have the stock. Today I found that bag in a store and immediately ordered i. There is no Rakuten involved when you call a Boutique and place an order over the phone,. However, for me, this is a bag worth having in my collection even at full price..

Thank you! Yes, when I placed my order, Coach emailed me that it was out of stock. So, I just went to the nearest boutique and bought the bag! I immediately fell in love with it! So I'm definitely keeping this bag!
