Does anyone have any Rhodochrosite jewellry? I recently fel lin love with a ring that had a large faceted rhodochrosite on it, but it was in YG & it was way over my price range. I wish I could find something simpler but I've never seen this stone before! I tried a google search, but all I can find is inexpensive silver jewelry in it's natural unpure form (think layered turquoise vs a faceted stone). Any recs?

I wish I did but it's hard to find in a gem quality stone. it's also extremely soft I think a 5 on the moh scale. hopefully someone can find you a gem quality stone.

have you considered contacting a gem dealer (online is best bet) and seeing if they can bring in the stone loose? then setting it in a custom or stock setting?

I guess that's why it's so expensive. There's 2 rings from Viani (??) at Birks that has it, but they're both in yellow gold.
I'll have to contact some dealers! TY! I wonder if jewelers won't work on it since it is so soft?

You can buy faceted Rhodochrosite loose stones at jtv.com, some look better than others but you can always return the item if you don't like it.

Thanks!
Wow, the good ones are quite expensive. I guess the rings I was looking at were quite a deal then. Hmm...
It's the rich even coral tone ones that look nice - not the pale mottled pink ones.

I agree the coral tone ones are the prettiest. Jtv.com is a good site to find gemstones that regular jewelry stores don't carry. I use them quite a bit. I hope you are able to find what you're looking for.

Hm, I just spoke to my jeweler & he thought putting it into a ring would be very unwise because it's so soft... especially a bigger piece...

He did show me however a few garnets that were significantly less $$$ & a similar coral colour...
