Rhinoplasty results at NAMU got really bad and swollen overtime! What to do?

Hi everyone.

My rhinoplasty results. Looked great and handsome initially but after deswelling and the months it came it's finally settled to look alot worse (bridge wider and crooked, tip is bulbous and round and not sharp, radix less pronounced, nose is bulky, nose just honestly doesn't look good in general and is much bigger) I'm thinking of going back for warranty revision, but I don't even know where to start.

Pictures don't show it either but from front view, nose (especially bridge) is alot wider now too.

I'm not sure if I even want to go back to the 1Namu1 and trust them again but I'd rather not have the hard earned $$$ I spent wasted (cause free warranty revision) and I don't THINK it's their fault since it DID look good in the beginning. HOWEVER, how they responded to me put a bad taste in my mouth. They told me that they could fix it with injections due to thick skin and scar tissue but every other clinic I asked said revision surgery was necessary and my nose looks way different now that I don't think injections will help. This was a really off putting sign. Not to mention they haven't even responded to my texts after asking why they recommended only injections. I don't remember much but if someone can give me more detail about this it would be great but I believe Namu has a 2 year no questions asked warranty surgery but I none of the papers I brought home says anything about it but I am pretty sure I do remember them saying something along those lines 9 months ago and someone else on purse forum talking about it.

I'm sure other people had great experiences here but I regret getting surgery from here.

I also got hairline lowering surgery from them too and they said 2cm would be enough but it barely made a difference. I guess it's my fault since I agreed to it but I was trusting them since they were the experts in what correct forehead size should be. On similar lines I asked if there were any surgeries asides from hairline lowering and rhinoplasty I needed and they said not neccessary (which I guess was a good trust worthy honest thing) but looking in hind sight it just seemed like they didn't know all procedures to get to look best because every other clinic I talked to recommend a facial contouring of some kind for my weak chin and in retrospect I never noticed I had a weak chin and bad zygoma since my big forehead and bad nose were much prominent bad features to notice. Once again this is more my fault but I did ask them for all procedures that were necessary to look better cause I'm not the expert in knowing what procedure and features makes a face look handsome.

If I do end up going somewhere different it will probably be uvom but I'll probably go 1Namu1 again because I don't want to spend even more money and Namu would probably know best on why my surgery went really bad while other clinics wouldn't know my case

Bottom pics gradually happened over course of past 9 months but by around 5 months my nose pretty much looked exactly like how it does right now at 9. So it's safe to say it's settled and established

I'm sorry to hear about your negative experience.
Just an idea - feel free to discard if its not useful for you: I wonder if Namu has more than one rhinoplasty surgeon? Would it be possible to go back to Namu, but to a different doctor, and one who fits your aesthetic? I know Pony (the makeup youtuber) did this when she was unhappy with her eyes post-surgery. She didn't state what hospital she went to but she said that she went to a big hospital.

Hi shubertsamson. I'm just as the same as you. Had a primary rhino at Namu. 1 month post op result was terrific. Now after 9 months, it's settled and i am extremely disappointed with the results. My tip was straight and sharp now it became round and overall my nose looks crooked... I'll wait the 1 year post op then try to contact them again to see what they can do but i dont have high hopes. I'll probably need to consult other clinics too

That's pretty much the same situation as me! You should contact them now, you possibly cant think in 3 months after 9 months of waiting it will drastically change to look much better. I wish i messaged them immediately around 3-4 months when my nose started to look bad so i could settle this much quicker

I think you look fine. Don’t get a revision unless you can’t live with the results. Otherwise there’s no end to revisions because in a person’s mind there’s always something more that can be tweaked.

i can definitely live the results its just that when i pay a lot of money and travel across the world for a procedure to finally have a good nose and it does not come out good but rather just "fine" and looks a lot worse i would at least like a free revision

Interesting I didn't know rhinos could look the best right after surgery for some people as usually I see people complaining the opposite where it looks bigger than they want due to swelling. What type of implant was used or was it your own cartilage and it got reabsorbed? I'm curious the medical reason for the change in appearance.

Regarding the amount of hairline lowering and depending on clinics to tell you what you "need", I advise everyone to know their own face and what they want going in beforehand as there's just too many clinics out there looking to increase their profits by telling you to have additional work done you don't actually need. The other issue is the SK aesthetic isn't the same as every other country so while they could believe it would be improvement in their mind it might not be seen as such in your country. Like the SK standard for guys too is smaller jawlines where as in US it's the opposite and they do way more procedures to add volume to the jawline, the before and afters are exact opposites of what each country is after. I agree it's hard to know how changing one thing will affect your overall looks, getting photoshops done to see how changes look on you would help a lot with this.

Injection is only a temporary fix and it's probably not worth it just to fly all the way there just for that, if you get revision I would ask them the reason the first surgery changed so much and if that could happen again if you get a revision. Good luck!

Thanks. And yes, it was almost offensive that all they did was offer me injections when they did such a bad job on my nose and took so much of my money. I know there is different beauty standards but i am east Asian anyways so i am fine going with the sk standard then whatever standard there is for Asian men in western countries (which is usually k-pop idols anyways) . i definitely wont fly back for only injection and when i told them that most other clinics said i needed revision surgery and i asked them how an injection could change my nose so much to improve it better they did not even respond to me. i have a really bad taste in my stomach after my experiences with namu. i am also still interested in the other poster who had the same exact experience as me at namu, i thought my bad situation was unique

I would do this too, and ask the surgeon why post-op 1 month looks better than post-op 9 months. If it has to do with thick skin as they suggested in their response, then why did they not highlight this to you as a potential side effect at the consultation?

I suspect they used filler injection during post op care. That's why the results looked so good after 1 month... At that time i just asked the surgeon what was it for, he told me it was for better recovery and because of the language barrier i didnt insist. But now i'm growing more suspicious.

To be honest i can't throw shade at namu yet. I sure am disappointed with the results but before that i had several consultations with other clinics and most of them told me that achieving the perfect result would be hard because of my very thick skin hence the results would not be 100% predictable. So a revision rhinoplasty might be necessary. I think this whole thing is kind of a lottery. Some surgeons might achieve better results but some might worsen your actual look. To me it is definitely better than before surgery but not as good as when it was 1 month post op...

(they have 2 surgeons that do rhinoplasty. Dr Min and Dr Kook. I went with Dr Min)

Yeah I can see what your issue is. I'd suggest not to go to the same clinic or surgeon. If they can't do it right the first time what makes you think they can the second time round? I'd just go see a top rhino specialist where you live. Look for one that has done a lot of revisions - this is critical. If you're in the US maybe consult with Paul Nasif who features in Botched. He fixed so many botched rhinos before and most of them if not all look great afterwards. He is worth travelling for I believe.

This looks like a pretty textbook soft tissue pollybeak deformity. Basically, scar tissue has formed around the tip causing it to bulk up. The aftercare injection was probably a diluted steroid to help reduce the build up of scar tissue. Namu is right in saying that the first step in addressing soft tissue pollybeak is injecting triamcinolone into the area to break up the scar tissue. I would suggest finding a local plastic surgeon to administer some Kenalog shots and see if that helps; the sooner the better as it requires multiple treatments. (Here's a clip of Dr. Nassif discussing it.)

Did your injections hurt a lot? Nasal fillers are painful, so you would feel it. What kind of implant was used? This can sometimes happen when tip support is weak and contracts.

Honestly people should stop going Korea for PS. Yes sometimes it is good but it is just so much easier to see top surgeons in the US or UK for very common plastic surgery procedures like rhinoplasty. Unless it is a rare surgery then you may have to seek somewhere else but otherwise.
