I recently purchased the Givenchy Wing tote and wanted to share my thoughts since it appears to be a new style that is still under the radar. I ordered it in gray from Neiman Marcus (gray is exclusive to NM and BG; it’s also available in black at other retailers). The bag is all leather, and is comparable a Neverfull GM (it’s a large, open tote that is slightly smaller than the NF GM). It comes with a detachable zippered pouch.

Pros:
•Very sturdy, well-made, and stands up on its own even when empty (it’s not flimsy like the YSL leather shopper, but it’s not as stiff as the Mansur Gavriel tote).
•Attractive exterior design with triangular, architectural motif that adds some visual interest and elevates it above a typical leather tote.
•Fun graphic logo interior that adds a bit of a punch without detracting from the sleek exterior.
•Interior pouch, despite being relatively small, manages to fit a large smartphone (e.g., iphone 7/8 plus), keys, and a slim card case.
•Fits a ton of stuff! It easily fits a 15” laptop, a large (very stuffed) purse organizer, and my lunch (with room to spare). The straps are wider and feel sturdier than the straps on the Neverfull, so carrying a laptop is definitely doable with this bag!

Cons:
•I wish the shoulder straps were just a tad longer. I can definitely carry the bag over my shoulder, but it’s a little snug when I’m wearing a thick winter coat. It’s not a deal-breaker for me, but I figured it’s worth mentioning as it might be an issue for others who prefer longer straps.
•The long strap that attaches the pouch to the bag is permanently affixed to the inner lining of the bag (rather than to the pouch), so the pouch doesn’t have a wrist strap of its own when you detach it from the bag. I wish Givenchy had made the strap like the pouch for the Neverfull (detachable from the tote and useable as a wrist strap).

Overall, I am very pleased with this bag! It’s beautiful in person—the construction and finish are superior to other similarly-priced premier designer totes that I looked at when shopping around for a new bag.

Great review and I love the color and lining print, very sleek looking. I'm a recent tote convert and had looked at a few options so I'm glad Givenchy has a new offering.

The leather looks to be smooth calf? Is it relatively low maintenance or more delicate? How heavy is it after you have your 15 in laptop and other things inside?

It seems to be pretty low maintenance so far! According to Givenchy’s website, the bag is goatskin. It’s smooth with a very subtle textured, matte finish (I added a close-up pic showing the texture below). If I were to guess, I would say it has been treated with something to make it more hardy, as it seems to be holding up quite well. I don’t see any scuffs, marks, or color transfer after using the bag frequently for a few weeks.

As for the weight, it’s a little heavier than a Neverfull, but not significantly so. It’s a bit heavy when stuffed (especially when carrying a 15” laptop), but that’s to be expected since all of the weight is being carried on one shoulder. That said, it’s not uncomfortably heavy and it’s certainly lighter than some of my other leather bags. Hth!

Here are some mod shots of the bag (please excuse the awful lighting—these were taken indoors at night).

I also ordered the black version, as I needed to see both colors in person to make a decision (I ultimately went with the gray since I have too many black bags already). Here are some mod shots of the black version, in case anyone considering this bag finds them helpful.

So glad to hear that it's been carefree to use so far, and that it may be treated, details that matter since work totes are workhorses for me.

Grey is the right choice, and it looks so good with your red coat! The envelope line details are more visible on it than the black, although I do fancy your all black outfit too.

I think my next laptop needs to be a lighter version bc mine is killing my back, but I need the bigger screen. Thanks for all this great info and helpful pics. Certainly putting this tote on my radar now.

Honestly, I’ve found the most comfortable carry option for a laptop to be a backpack. I have a Senreve Maestra that converts from a satchel to a backpack, so it’s a nice option for work when you need to look professional but want the comfort of a backpack during your commute. The large size Maestra fits a 13” laptop in the built-in laptop sleeve, or a 15” laptop in the center compartment (which of course reduces the remaining interior space). Pics below with an ipad pro in the laptop sleeve, and 15” laptop in the center compartment.

Hi! I thought I’d leave a short review of the Wing tote, which I received last week.
Unfortunately, I was really disappointed and will be retuning the bag. A few things:
- this bag is big. Really, really big. So if you want a tote that can carry a lot, it’s great. For me - the width of the bag was an issue as it makes it very boxy on the body.
- the straps are about 2cm too short and because it sits so high/snug under the arm, I felt it really accentuated its boxiness and bulky look.
- I bought mine online and it arrived with a dent in the side of the bag. It gave me an insight into how I think the leather will perform over time.
- I found the top of the bag wavy / it didn’t hold its shape as well as I’d hoped.
- the lining is great and very eye catching.
- detachable purse is excellent and a really good size - could easily be used as a clutch on its own.

I decided on Mansur Gavriel instead as I like the more tapered look and the stiffer leather.
