I'm in Las Vegas for work and was delighted to note there's a Mulberry store here when I was looking up shopping in the area. (Well, just about all the luxury handbag shops are here, but Mulberry is still not that easy to find in the United States.) They had several classic Bayswaters including some on sale; assorted colors (some on sale, some not) were neon blue, white, red, pastel yellow, and oak. They had both the small and large Antony on sale, and two Piccadilly bags (one black, one racing stripe). The Piccadilly is gigantic! I had so much fun looking.

I learned from the lovely SA that the new larger Coca Bayswater is going to be discontinued, and only the smaller Coca Bayswater (the one with a shoulder strap) will be available. Have you also heard this? This may be old news to you as I have not been on tPF all of January. She showed me both side by side and said they are very close in size, which perhaps had to do with the decision.

I went in with one bag in mind, but ended up browsing thoroughly and getting this pretty bag - have been looking for a cross-body bag for some time now: Alexa in shrunken calf leather in indigo. I was a bit torn on the canvas lining, but the bag is a great size and the long shoulder strap is something I was looking for. I've learned a lot about Mulberry here and wanted to share this photo, apologies for the poor lighting, but I could not get to it earlier in the day. The shops here are open till 11 or midnight which makes walking such fun!

Congratulations she’s a beauty. I have to agree there is something indulgent about shopping very late at night.....for luxury goods...not groceries!! Enjoy the rest of your trip , is there anything else on the late night shopping list?

Thanks! Nothing else on the list - I fully enjoyed the window shopping at other places. It's such a maze in these large shopping promenades. The casinos and hotels sure know how to rope in customers and keep them there!

Congratulations!! I really rate this leather, I found an oxblood Bayswater in shrunken calf - they rooted around in the stock room at new bond st and found one for me - and to my shame I said no thanks! Ugh, regretted it ever afterward:sad:

Congratulations!!
That is a beautiful Alexa! I love shrunken calf.
Gorgeous! Congrats!
Thank you! I was really pleased to find it, especially I hadn't known that the Alexa is now discontinued. The SA emphasized that whatever they had in stock is it, so I felt there was no time to lose. Pessie, I hope you find yours soon!

I sprayed mine with Waterstop as they advised, and noticed the oddest thing the next day when I was walking around. The corner bumping against me picked up a lot of white dust. I am guessing it's either Waterstop residue (seems unlikely since it's not anywhere else on the bag), dust from the ever-present smoke in the hotel waiting areas and casinos, or some fiber from my fleece jacket. It dusted right off but for a brief moment I was aghast that it might have had significant corner wear just from my one hour outing! All is well, though.

Try the outlets - I'm pretty certain Bicester Village had one not too long ago.

Gorgeous bag - congratulations on your find.

Re. discontinued Coca Bays - I learned from the lovely SA that the new larger Coca Bayswater is going to be discontinued, and only the smaller Coca Bayswater (the one with a shoulder strap) will be available.

I suspected that this was going to happen. All classic colours of this style were in the sale and there are only 3 versions currently available in new season colours. It's a deal breaker for me as there is quite a substantial difference in the handle drop and I always wear my Bays over the shoulder by the double handles. The new tote and large Zipped are, as far as I can see, the only current styles with a double handle shoulder carry option but the open tote style not secure enough for my needs. I suspect the "with strap" style is selling well and it will be interesting to see what is available next month when the new collection drops.

Thank you! I ended up moving back into my big Coach tote for the work week, but will be getting this bag back out as soon as I get caught up at work!

Gorgeous bag - congratulations on your find.
Thanks! It is interesting to see how the company is adjusting the offerings...I was heartened to see several classic Bayswater in stock at that store. I haven't tried the new design on to see how the handle drop is.

Interesting intel, thanks... and congrats on the Alexa find - your SA was right and not just being sales-y*!

Thanks! I must say this was one of the loveliest shopping experiences I'd had in a while. This SA was so knowledgeable and also very good about recommending local restaurants (totally above and beyond what she had to do), and made me feel relaxed as she looked up information on her computer. The Mulberry store was a little oasis in the middle of a sea of people!
