So I recently purchased this Selena Grace bag in colorblock (24109) at my outlet during their last 70% off sale. I really like the bag. I think it's very classy and sophisticated and different from a lot of the bags in my collection, but this bag looks like it has been through a lot lol. I'm a little concerned about the condition of the suede and the creasing in the leather. Does anyone own this bag? How well does it hold up? Is this too much wear and tear for a "new" bag? Does anyone have any suggestions on products to use on the suede and leather? Should I just return her to the store? That's a lot of questions lol but I'd love to hear what you guys think... Thanks in advance!!

Hi! I guess you gotta ask yourself can you live with a not perfect bag for a great deal? To me it does look a little beat up, probably from being shipped multiple times if it went to a store and then back to JAX and then to an outlet. But it is a pretty and classy bag! We will never know it’s path in life lol

I have bought bags from the outlet that were less than perfect but was ok with it because they were such great deals. I’m probably a little pickier now though haha!

Have you checked out any bags on the Coach website summer sale? Some great deals and for a bit more $ you could get something that might be in a little better shape. Also, sometime soon some bags in the sale may go from 40% to 50% and they will add more items. If you decide to return I think you could find something you’d love!

Good luck with your decision and take a few days to decide [emoji1]

I agree with @Syren , if it is something you can live with at 70% then I'd keep it, otherwise, Coach always has great black bags coming out each season, another will come along that strikes your fancy. I find with deletes at outlets, some of them get 'manhandled' between shipping, customers, and so on. So they aren't always pristine. But when you get smoking deals on them, it sort of helps. It looks good on you!

Hi, the bag is beautiful and also a great size for you. I think you could do some conditioner on it to improve it a little, because for 70% that is a super deal.

However, I do want to say in the nicest way possible-Go Capitals!!

I agree, if you like it and got it at a great price you should keep it, because it will show some signs of wear after you've used it for awhile, anyway.

But with just a small amount of attention you should be able to make the bag look much better. Apply a small amount of leather condition to the smooth leather, rub it in and let it absorb, and then buff with a soft cloth - or use a clean, horsehair brush.

Brush the suede sections with a suede brush to clean and style those areas. I've never had much luck with suede cleaner so I wouldn't try it.

Rub the hardware with a soft cloth, and stuff the bag and shape it when putting it into storage in the dustbag to help it regain and retain shape.

I think that with these few steps you can improve the appearance a lot, but you can also post pics in the rehab and rescue thread to ask for additional advice, see:

Just an FYI, when you find a bag that you want to buy at the outlet but it has signs of wear or damage you can ask the SA or manager for an extra discount. They may or may not give you another 10% or 15% off. But if they do give you an extra discount they will sell the bag "as is" and you probably won't be able to return it if you change your mind.
