I ordered a wallet on JANUARY 5th, 2011 this year from Bloomingdales, it arrived within about a week, I thought about it for a few days and decided that I won't ever use it, so I wrapped it back up and sent it back to them labeled as return with their proper stickers etc. on JANUARY 18th. Per my tracking, it has arrived on JANUARY 25th at their center.
Today is FEBRUARY 2nd (!!!), and 9 days have passed since they have received it! I am reading on their website that you should give it around 4 business days after arrival to get your refund, but they still haven't done anything for me. I am getting impatient and worried. Is that normal? Why on gods earth do they take so long? Does the time sound like bloomingdales's usual way of dealing with returns, or is something off?
One thing I know for sure- I won't ever buy anything from them again, it seems to be a pain!!!
What would you suggest to do? I emailed CS once, and they said, you have to wait.... but so much time has passed already, why are they contradicting? My transit time has passed on the 25th when they received it!

"Please allow 7-10 business days for the return transit time, plus an additional 4 business days upon receipt for the return to be completed and the refund to be issued to your account.

I typically have to wait about that long when I make returns via mail, so the current waiting time wouldn't concern me. Credit card returns can take days to post, so if they waited until the 4th day to "complete" your return, the refund could still be pending.
Edit: Not to mention the non-business days and potential setbacks due to weather.

Do are you waiting to receive a return confirmation from them, or are you waiting to see it posted on your account?

Sometimes it takes a couple days for the credit card to post the return.

The same thing happened to me with something I ordered around christmas time and returned the beginning of January. I had to wait a while but the return was posted back to my CC. I've found that Bloomingdales is pretty slow about processing returns.

I am having the same time being patient with a return I made to them. I have a suggestion though based on two returns that I did recently. First one I did my own shipping USPS 2-3 day priority it was cheap because it was small package and only 1 pound. Total time for refund back to my Bloomies Card 6 business days (includes shipping) super fast! And then my last return I used their label mailed on 1/20 (tracking confirmed they received 1/27) still no refund to my card (2 wks & counting). So from now on I will use USPS.

hey guys,

i was wondering if i don't have a receipt can i still
return items by mail? (no store nearby) and how
will they credit my return? i do not want credit to
the original credit card as it was a gift. should i
insert a letter telling them i would prefer credit
in the form of a gift card/store credit? and i
noticed in some places store credits are only allowed
for use in stores, does this apply to bloomingdales
store credits as well?

so many questions, sorry :(

How did the person who gave this to you pay? Do you have any proof item comes from Bloomingdales.com? If not they will not refund in any form. Purchases from .com dont have those stickers that trace the transaction. Only in store purchases do. You have to show them proof of original transaction. They wont refund otherwise

Hi there^
Um, my sister purchase the items from the site, with her credit card. The products are still in the bags with the stickers on the bags. I also have the order number as well and email on account, but no receipt. When i called to request a new return shipping label, they still had the order history in their system, he even asked which items i wanted to return before sending me the new return label. Another thing is, i just mailed the box today, with my note in it. I included all the information (order number, my name, address, and that i wanted a store credit/gift card). If they wont process my return, will they mail the items back to me? :confused1:

I returned something I ordered online directly to the store on the 7th and the credit has never appeared! I called the store and said they said yes, we have the receipt and show you have returned it. The SA was very nice and said she would call the manager of Customer Service and that person would call me back. This is day 3 and still no call. I called Visa and filed a dispute. CS is horrible.

No, You are fine. Thats all they need. With order # they can look up everything.

I made few purchases and return one item recently. Let me share, that Bloomies CS in terms of return is absolutely the worst. They got the package within 4 days, and nothing... I had to call them 5 times for now. They already have the item for 13 days, and they told me to wait another 5 days to see it posted. There is no instructions online. Their system is set up for purchase only. It is so difficult to get ahold of CS in terms of returns. I live nowhere near Bloomingdale. it is just disappointing.
