Returning at Chanel

Hello All!

I’m a newbie with Chanel. I recently bought my first Chanel bag a Chanel Old Medium bag in black caviar leather and RHW. Once I unboxed I notice the little CC within the lock was crooked. I immediately went back to Chanel to exchange it. After getting a new one, I tried it on with outfits and I feel as though it doesn’t fit my body type well (I’m petite 5’2). I don’t think they have the same combination in a small boy. I’m torn if to keep it simply because I exchange the first one because of the defect or return it. I’m not sure if the SA will allow me to return it as well. Any advise? Thank you!

It depends on your country of purchase but in the US, at a boutique, I have been told that refund after exchange is possible with receipt and as long as its within 14 days of the original transaction so they can locate the original card charge.

It may be at the discretion of management.

You exchanged your bag before you were even sure you wanted to keep it? You could have just returned it or asked about the small boy then.

Anyhooo as long as it's unworn they'll probably do it for you. See what you can do.Either way, get a refund or pick something else. It's too much money to just to keep something you decided you don't want.

I agree, for petites the old med boy is too long and not that flattering. I know this because I have one that rarely gets worn. Pick a diff bag- medium classic flap has a great size and chain length!

You were not sure if the old medium size suited you, I would have returned it. I find very few petite women can pull the old medium size, the small size is better suited.

Thank you for your reply! I should have went with my gut but my SA talked me into it especially since she said the combination is hard to get. I should have tried it out before I exchanged it the first time but I saw the crooked little CC and left it as that. I’m going to contact my SA to see if I even have an option of exchanging it for a smaller one.

Just ask and be nice. The service is usually exemplary. Just simply say you weren't sure and would like to return. I doubt they will make a huge deal out of it. You're still a customer wanting to buy a $5k+ bag.

Congrats on getting the small boy! This size is better suited for petite women.

I have to disagree with everyone saying that the old medium isn’t suitable for petite women. I as well am 5’2” and love my old medium boy and thinks it’s suits me just right. I as well like the small boy, but have two mini squares and wanted something a bit bigger. With that said, I’m glad you were able to exchange it for small. It’s so adorable in that size.
