Since I can't "close" a thread, I have to post a "retraction" to a previous thread I started.

My images from a listing were stolen by this seller and I had the listing cancelled and I wrote a scathing email to this seller. She responded quickly and wrote back totally apologetic and told me that it was her teenage daughter, who had stolen the photos from my listing, and she didn't "know" she was doing wrong (the daughter).

This woman was so apologetic and so gracious, I just have to believe her. So, retraction of my accusation above.....

She seems to be a good ebayer with lots of sales and good feedback and I don't want to ruin her reputation, if it was an honest mistake. I felt it only fair to post this "retraction".

See the "best excuses ever heard on ebay" thread as in: "My dog hit BIN," "my room mate hit BIN," "I was watching porn and I hit BIN by mistake"
....too much to be believed
I really don't believe this person's daughter stole your pictures and posted them and neither should you. I would report her to ebay for stealing your pictures.:nogood:

mj you`re too good and trusting, babe. If she is such a good and active seller, dont you think that the confirmation email about putting up an auction by EBay would have her check it and remove is it wasnt her who posted it up?

She feeds you a lot of BS, hun. Report her.

To add.. I have never stolen pictures, but I was searching for a DVD once for my daughter. I didn't have an ebay account so FIL bid on it for me. I think my max was 40 dollars for a stupid DVD that I had been searching for for about a month. One day I Googled it and found one for $10. I won the DVD for 40 and so didn't want to pay, but I owned up to it and now I have 2 copies.

photomj, good for you.

Who cares if the excuse is true or not. Her response was nice and apologetic and I think it's very good of you to accept that and move on.

What a childish response from that seller to being put on the spot...

I don't buy it, but I guess if you got her to stop stealing photos then it's mission accomplished.

Maybe you should keep an eye on her taking other people's photos now. That seems like the next logical step for her.

She might have disabled that function, esp if she's an active seller. Whether she's telling the truth or not, I really wouldn't care. I've had my entire listing stolen before, text and pics, I didn't bother emailing the seller, I just reported it immediately to ebay who pulled the scammer's auction.
