Will you pay $4500 before tax to reset & resize a Tiffany platinum diamond eternity band? This ring is the Victoria alternating ring with the diamonds set as "XOXO" shape with the marquise and round brilliant diamonds. I have a band that is currently size 7 and I would need it to be a size 6. I can't add a ring guard to make it smaller because it already have one on and also due to the shape of the ring being slightly not circular. Tiffany can take off all the diamonds and remove the ring guard and reset all the diamonds. It will come back as a brand new ring and to the size that I want. It will also cost me $4500. The brand new value for the ring at Tiffany is $22 000. Will you do it? and why? Anyone did something similar before? Thanks. :-s:confused1::confused1::shocked:

Hmm, while I never have done something like that before, I may do it if the ring has a lot of sentimental value. Especially, for example, if that is the only full infinity diamond ring that I have.

Are you okay wearing on other fingers that it may fit better? Or on the dominant hand fingers, since those tend to be slightly bigger than the non-dominant hand.

It is a pretty hefty price for a resize, about 25% of the price of the original ring itself.

If you're not in a hurry or need to resize, perhaps you can just wait on it and think a little longer?

Something else you need to consider. People gain and lose weight, which of course affects how our rings fit. Don't know your age, but another issue to consider is that when we get older, our knuckles are often the first place arthritis sets in. It would be a shame to have spent all that money to get it resized then not be able to wear it.

I'm in that boat. My right ring finger has forever been a size 6 so I have gobs of size 6 rings. Unfortunately, I can't get them past my knuckle any longer. Happily my left ring finger knuckle is still unaffected by arthritis which is good since I've got two 2 carat eternity bands and a 2 carat solitaire on my left ring finger. I'd turn into a sobbing puddle of mush if I couldn't wear them.

Have you considered getting a hefty weight, preferably rope, chain and wear it as a pendant? Might be a good option for you.

Are you talking about the Victoria Alternating ring? This one? If yes, I have always loved this ring. It's beyond gorgeous. Tiffany Victoria® Platinum and Diamond Alternating Ring | Tiffany & Co.

I vote yes. I've had pieces of jewelry that no longer fit or I no longer like. I do not hesitate to resize or reset it into a different setting. Think of this as a reset, except that you are resetting it to the same style, only now, it fits you perfectly.

My comments on the ring. The Victoria Alternating ring to me, is the bomb.
The ring itself is gorgeous. Perfect brilliant cut diamonds with marquise cut diamonds. The marquises are cut by Tiffany and perfectly matched. They are not sourced randomly where some marquises are cut more oblong while other marquises are fatter. Each is perfect, the same.

The symbolism of the Victoria Alternating eternity ring is pure romance. The Xs and Os, hugs and kisses, for an eternity ring, one love, no beginning, no end.

I would not think twice to reset it. The ring is so beautiful to me, both in its sparkle and its symbolism.
